HI,

thanks for writing here.

Yes, they have completed the work and conducted "Kumbabhisekham" - kind of celebration for the temple. A Maha Kumbabhishegam performed at the Madurai Meenakshi Temple in April 2009. Maha Kumbabhishekam is performed once in every twelve years in ancient Hindu temples. It is performed to remove all inauspiciousness and usher in greater prosperity and peace. In 2009, the date of Maha Kumbabhishekam at Madurai Meenakshi Temple in April 8.

Now all the gopuras are uncovered. Its time for you to visit our ancient, Vibrant temple.

I am natively from South India - Madurai. If you need more about South, do write to me...

Hi this is Sonia Ahuja......
You want to know about Murugan Temple. Tamil Nadu dedicated to Lord Muruga. The Temple is situated upon the higher of the two hills of Palani, known as the Sivagiri. Traditionally, access to it was by the main staircase cut into the hill-side or by the yanai-padhai or elephant's path, used by the ceremonial elephants. Pilgrims bearing water for the ritual bathing of the idol, and the priests, would use another way also carved into the hill-side but on the opposite side. This forehead enshrines Skanda within various forms associated with legends from the Skanda Puranam. The primary of these is the depiction associated with Skanda as being a soldier, "Samhara Subramanya".You can enjoy the Vilaa Pooja, Siru Kall Pooja, Kaala Santhi, Utchikkala Pooja , Raja Alankaram etc... The Temple open for public 6.00 a.m. to 8.00 p.m. On festival days the temple opens at 4.30 a.m.
