Hi Jackie,

Please refer Indian railways website for details...

But now days things are failry modernised...even there is plan to install ticke vending machine(which will take one year for sure )........

If planning to travel by train take minimum 2AC tickets as that will make your journey a bit more comfortable...

Dear Jackie, local travel within India is quite easy and cheap. You would need to decide where in India you would land and plan your travel based on that.

If you book your flight tickets before hand you can get them as cheap as 1800 INR one way per person to any of these destinations. Would advise you to book your train tickets earlier too. You can go to the Indian rail site www.irctc.co.in - all train details, time, stations and cost is there on the site. You can even use your debit/credit card to book the train.

Do keep in mind that trains and train stations in India are not very clean, though quite cheap, almost doubles your time for travel. Since you are here for 3 weeks, time may be a criteria while planning destinations to visit.

Your experience should be good using either mode of transport - however like visiting any other tourist destination, be careful of your belongings and do not trust strangers as to leaving luggage with them or taking care of their children and luggage.

Have a great trip! Reply to this

Hi Jackie,

All the places are easily accessible by both, train and flight.
It is recommended that you book them both, a few weeks earlier, for better price and availability.

Currently Jet Airways has some interesting deals on its website, both international and domestic travel within India. Do have a look at http://tinyurl.com/n6ohkb

Hope this helps,
Smitha
