Hi Jackie, I would suggest you travel to Mumbai (though not sure where you are traveling from).

After visiting Mumbai, you can travel to Goa and from Goa to Kerla. If you see the map, all these three destinations are along the same side of the coast.

Taj Mahal is in Agra, Uttar Pradesh. I would suggest visiting Udaipur, Jaipur and Agra. Udaipur and Jaipur are in Rajasthan, but since you are here for 3 weeks and plan on going to Agra, you may also visit these destinations.

If you are looking at budget travel - you can easily use the train. If you book 3 months in advance, you can book flights for about 2K one way per adult.

There are a lot of places to visit in Mumbai and Goa during the day and night. Kerla and Agra dont have much of a night life.

Hope this info helps. Reply to this

you should def. go to mumbai first.. you'll get all international connections till mumbai.. then reaching goa should be no problem from mumbai.. and same way.. from goa.. kerala.. i've been to all those places.. you might want to check for cheap on-road travel in india.. i know.. air is always the more convenient option.. but i suggest that you travel by train/road if you want to see the real india.. esp. when you travel mumbai to goa.. (the scenic view is heavenly).. also.. you might want to travel in the upper classes in the train.. the website link i gave you.. they can help you out..

Hello Lil Mo
I am from kerala and lived in Goa for 6 yrs.
If you could use any of my advice or guidance to plan an itinerary feel free to ask me.
Mumai-Goa-Kerala is the best. If you could give an idea about how many days you have planned in each place, I can suggest very good itineraries for you
Cheers

Just 4 nights in Kovalam?
You are missing Aleppey , The backwaters.
Cochin is too important to miss.
Anyway as you have already booked all these places, now its too late I think. Unless you can change the plans.
You could have arrived to Trivandrum first, Kovalam beach is just 14kms from the Airport. From Kovalam, get on to the morning train at 10 am from Trivandrum central railway station by Netravati express train. It reaches Alleppey at 1 pm. You could stay overnight in a house boat/a riverside resort with a 3 hr boat cruise in the back waters, then next day morning just 90 mins by bus to Cochin. 2 nights in Cochin would have been great.
Check in at any of the hotels in Fort Cochin. Same day sightseeing at Fort Cochin ( Chinese Fishing Nets, St. Francis Chuch etc) . Hire a taxi/Auto Rickshaw at around 6 pm to go to watch Kathakali performance at Art Kerala( near South Railway Bridge in Cochin city) , Performance starts at 6.45 and ends at around 8.15 pm. Have dinner at one of the many city hotels or back to Fort Cochin for Dinner. Over night at the hotel
Next day, have early breakfast and check out. Proceed to Mattancherry ( 20 mins drive) for Jew Town, Synagogue, Dutch palace etc. Reach South Railway station ( Ernakulam Junction) to board Netravati Express which arrives there at 2 pm which will take you to Goa next day early morning. You will arrive Madgaon station at around 6 am. You can disembark there if you wish to stay in South Goa. If not, get off at either Karmali ( 20 mins more) or Thivim ( 1 hr 10 mins) to reach Calangute/Anjuna/Vagatore etc.) Train stops at these small stations just for a couple of mins so check with fellow passengers where the train has reached.
All these journeys can be booked in advance. Air conditioned 2 tier/3 tier options are available. From Goa, you can proceed to Mumbai bu train or by flight.
This is the detailed itinerary to give you enough time to enjoy your trip.
If you need any assistance feel free to revert back.
