I am looking to find a peaceful environment to eventually settle upon retiring or even before if I like it enough.

Can anyone tell me about the village of Bama, China? I have recently found some media coverage of this peaceful village and seems like the perfect place to live for me upon retiring(or before). I am looking for a place of total relaxation and and peace. Please if you can send me any information. Reply to this

Bama is not a village. It's a county(Bama Yao Autonomous County,巴马瑶族自治县) in Guangxi Province. Reply to this

Yes. Bama Yao Autonomous County is quite peaceful and you can get relaxation away from the city. It is in the Northwest of Guangxi province, China. The people there is friendly and rustic. Bama is the area of world's longevity in the top five highest rate of centenarians, known as "the world's longevity in China and Holy Land". If you would like to go there, may I suggest that you could tour to Guilin and Yangshuo in Guangxi province, China too. What do you think? Reply to this

Sorry, I don't have site. However, you can search the pictures from Google. Type Chinese Words of "巴马瑶族自治县" that means Bama Yao Autonomous County and "桂林"that means Guilin City and “阳朔” that means Yangshuo county. Then, you will see a lot of vivid pictures. Hope you enjoy the photos. Reply to this

I'm Melinda , graduate in Chengdu Institute Sichuan International Studies University ,tourism
department.Though born in Fujian province I choose to stay in Chengdu (sichuan ,southwest china)for its rich travel resources.Talk about sichuan you may notice the earthquake in May 12,2008.In my opinion, this do not cover its beauty but show its spirit and special to the whole world.I'm glad to be a migrant in sichuan.Being in Chengdu( capital city of sichuan province) for at least 5 years,I'd like to share my life about the city and the travel resources around like Tibet,Mt.E-mei,Jiuzhaigou Vally and so on.
Maybe you have heard of a famous saying by Zhang yimou (film director)that chengdu is a city which once you visit it ,you will always missing it.there is also an antient saying warning people that do not go to chengdu when you are young for it is such a peace and comfortable place that may make the youth lazy.
so from my own experience I recommended Chengdu for you。welcome to china and enjoy your peace。
