hi, i'm visiting japan (tokyo and kyoto) for the first time in august and would love to find a hello kitty shop somewhere. Does anybody know anywhere i can get some good merchandise?

Hello Kitty items are even available here in Gemany and probably where you live too. Is there something special about buying them in Japan?

Even general toy stores/department stores here have Hello Kitty merchandise - you'll have no trouble finding some.

Reply to this kell there's a great hello kitty (and other sanrio character) store in shinjuku not far from the station! u will love it 😊 it has a giant hello kitty statue out the front - great photo opp!

it'd be like buying french champagne in france or eating spaghetti in italy or ...well you get the point! haha
i was trying to think of a better example..but it's early and i havent had my coffee yet......anyone got a good analogy? hehe
anyway - goodluck tracking down the hello kitty store in shinjuku kell......though i will add most gift shops/department stores stock hello kitty and other sanrio products! i picked up a great hello kitty lunch box from tokyu hands in shibuya! (another must see store for crazy gifts and fun bric-a-brac!)
