Corbett is a super park, but I do think that 5 days in the Park is a bit excessive. You must do one (or more) of the elephant treks to search for tigers - they are early morning and late afternoon and go for 2 hours. There are also 4WD options available as well. Remember since there are wild animals around, if you are not with a guide you cannot leave the grounds of the lodge/site you are staying at. It is for this reason, that 5 days might be a bit much for there.

Corbett is in the hills and it is definitely cooler than a place such as Delhi - so you may be okay.

This is my blog on the Park: On the Tiger Trail - but there are mostly words and only one photo - it was before my days of digital photography. Reply to this

Hi,

The Corbett National Park is divided into parts, so you can cover quite a bit of the place if you are there for 4-5 days. You have the option between the Government Lodge's and private resorts. The advantage of Government Lodge's is that its right in the jungle however you only have basic amenities while the resorts cater to tourists and are fancy. The heat in April and May can take a toll on you if you're not used to it - but the best part of Corbett in summer is that you will see all possible wild life bcoz they wander in the open themselves bcoz of the heat.

From Corbett, Nainital is about 1 hr and 30 mins drive however there is nothing much is Nainital to see for 3-4 days unless you plan on relaxing there - the place is beautiful. Dont have any details about Naukuchiatal, never been there but the locals are very warm and friendly, they'll help you with any info you need.

I've written a blog on Corbett too - you may check that. This was recently in Jan 2009. Reply to this

Nainital town itself is positioned around a beautiful lake called Naini jheel. It’s this attractive setting which makes Nainital a hot traveler spot particularly for honeymooners who get pleasure from the view of the good-looking lake and also try their hands at boating, get themselves snapped to take sugary memories back home. Other local attractions include ropeway travel and Naina Devi Temple. Once you are done with sight seeing, how about some shopping at the Mall Road. Nainital is called India’s Lake District. And it’s really not an unmerited reference because it is dotted with many big and small beautiful lakes. Those specialties are of all the hill stations recognized by the Britishers during their regulation in India.

Besides Naini jheel there is another lagoon near Nainital, Khurpatal. An tour to this lake is an experience in itself. Once you have finished Nainital and its immediate areas, start looking for other celebrated lakes of this district, which even enthralled the famous shikari Jim Corbett. First one you can spot is Bhimtal, the main of the lakes in the district. The small town is named after the lake itself and it is said that it’s named after the strong Pandav brother Bhima. Here too you can enjoy boat riding. This island has a restaurant for those who want to spend some time comforting in the heart of the water. From here drive up to the beautiful group of lakes called Saat Tal (Seven Lakes). It is said at one time there were seven lakes here but now only 5 are outstanding. Of all the lakes in this Lake District this group of the lakes is the cleanest one.more information nainital hill station plz log on
