I posted my latest blog around 18 hours ago and it has already more hits than some of the blogs I published months ago.
The only difference between this blog and the others is that I have a heap of photos in it. Do people really like photos that much?
Reply to this Were those other blog entries on the front page Mel? That makes a HUGE difference :-)
I would say yes, photos make a difference, people tend to be visual - the photo grabs their attention. whether or not they actually read the blog itself......

The last one was, but it did not get nearly as many hits as the one I have on the front page now. It still does not have as many hits as the one currently on the front page, even though I published it a couple of months ago.
Reply to this Hey, I clicked on your blog when it was on the front page! I did it because I recognized your name and photo from the forums. It was the first time I looked at your blog.
It's a funny thing about post counts though. One of my blog entries got over 14,000 hits last month...but it was a total fluke. I wrote about a topic last spring that generated a lot of interest this year.
That was more hits than any of my other entries have received combined. I doubt anything else I write will be that interesting. LOL.
Reply to this Photos definitely make a difference, we find it makes reading a blog much easier. People get bored less and can take a time out from the text to look at pretty pictures! It does seem silly but choosing the 'right' picture to go as the lead makes a difference too, as does the blog title!
