Thinking of going to Lhasa for a short time, wondering how long a trip would it take to be able to see Everest.

I have always wanted to trek to Everest, but I just dont see it in the cards. Definitely not now and maybe not ever. I am planning a trip to Asia and thinking of going to Lhasa. But if I get that close I really want to at least set my eyes on Everest. I know there are treks from Lhasa to Everest, but they take a week or more. What I am wondering is if I take a shorter one, can I get some good mountain views and a glimpse of Everest? Reply to this

The best time to visit is between April and October. If you plan on going to Lhasa, you can travel upto Rongphu Monastery and Mt. Everest Base Camp from where you can view the North face of Mount Everest. Reply to this
