My husband and I will be traveling through Thailand the first two weeks of April. We would like to visit Bangkok, Chang Mai, Phuket and possible Angor Wat. Has anyone tried using a Bangkok Airways Discovery Pass to travel by plane between these cities? If so, is it easy to use? It is a better value than trying to buy each ticket separately? If not, is it better to buy airplane tickets while in Thailand?

Reply to this Sacha,
I would hold off on buying the discovery pass and watch Air Asia for Seat sales. We got bought tickets for each place you are talking about and paid 69 CDN for two people round trip to each destination which was the taxes. They seem to be cycling through the seat sales quite often. The only issue is that we are now locked into those days although one of the airline people said if we wanted we could change our ticket. I did not delve deep into so don't know if thats a for certain or not.
April..... the hottest month... you're a trooper!
Reply to this You can try Nok Air and Tiger Airways too. They often have bargain tickets going. Bangkok Airways tends to be one of the expensive ones.
Reply to this Simple way to try....have you dates, add up the cost of the pass....than do it for each flight separately, using alos their competitors.....Jason put it right for AirAsia....the only problem is you need to plan properly if you have big bags with you!
To Siem Reap Bangkok Airways is an obvious answer. But you may want to do Bangkok-Phnom Pen...I know many people bypass the city, but visit the National Museum prior to Angkor Wat is a must for a better understand of the place.
If you have a lot of luggages, you may than also look at Thai for a pass allowing you to do, BKK-Phuket...direct to Chiang Mai and back to Phuket.
Tiger Airways is an option also...for Nok Air, they don't have such a great safety reputation....that's from friends who live in Thailand....but hey, its just a flight!
