I want to volunteer in Thailand or Malaysia while I'm backpacking Asia, but do you need a different visa to the tourist one? I didn't realise you needed visas at all, but do you need them for everywhere? As I'm not sure
exactly when and where I'm going in Asia :/ any advice would be much apreciated ^_^

To volunteer in Thailand you need a work permit.

Reply to this Depending on the kind of volunteering you want to do, you may need a copy of your criminal background check--some places won't even let you tour their facility unless they know you haven't been convicted of any crimes against children.
