I am looking forward to some beautiful spots. Where are nice beaches? What do you suggest? Any tours are really worth doing? please tell me about your experience?? I got a lonely planet already. I am actually looking for some genuine advice, someone who actually has experience it in person.

Thank you

The best thing to do is to take a look at a few Vietnam blogs to see what takes your fancy.

We really enjoyed Hoi An. There are a lot of tourists there but it's a lovely place to just wander around for a few days.

Not sure about beaches as we did not go to them but if you like to be active consider heading inland too to Dalat, in the central highlands. There are lots of activities there such as biking, trekking and rafting. Not to mention motorbike trips with the Easy Riders.

Consider using the sleeper trains for long journeys down the coast.

Have fun. I hope you enjoy Vietnam as much as we did. Reply to this

A trip to Sapa is well worthwhile. Overnight sleeper from Hanoi to Lao Cai and then a bus to Sapa. You can take treks from there for anything from 1 to 7 days.

We haven't spent too much time at beaches but Nha Trang was pretty good. Have heard good reports of Mui Ne and Da Nang as well.

Hoi An is definitely worth a couple of days.

Sleeper trains are normally more comfortable than the sleeper buses but if you get a bus try to stay away from the back seats - unless you are short.
