I am planning a trip through India, Thailand and China later this year travelling on a UK passport. From what I have read on the UK Chinese Embassy website, I cannot apply for a visa to China more than two months in advance. I checked the Thai Chinese Embassy Website and it is not clear whether I can apply for a visa in Bangkok or not.
Has anyone obtained a visa from Bangkok for entry into China as a tourist? If so, how long does the process take, what documents are required, and what is the approximate cost?
Apologies if this question has been asked before, and if it has please just point me to the right post.
Thanks in advance for any help offered.
Reply to this i think the only thing you need is to prove you are legal in thailand which you will do since you will have a 30 day permit on arrival stamped into your passport. visa will cost you around 30USD maybe 1000baht
i have not gotten a visa to china from thailand but i have gotten one in the US.. and all i did was prove i was legally there.... should take 4 days if its not expedited...

Reply to this Visa is a credential that allows people to enter and leave a country or transit across its borders. Visa is the competent authority in a country's own citizens or foreign passport or other travel documents endorsement seal. Overseas Chinese can return to visit relatives or to travel without visas.
Different Visa application for China travel Reply to this If you are entering China via Hong Kong, you can get a visa into the mainland from there. It's a little pricier than getting it in your home country and will take two business days. My sister submitted her app at 10am on a Thursday and it was ready by 2pm on Friday.
