Hi, i'm planning on traveling from Hanoi to Hong Kong and China in march 09. I'd like to travel overland from Hanoi to Hong Kong and then work my way up to Beijing. Can anyone offer any advice on visas and train routes that they might of taken before and also problems i'm likely to encounter at border crossings and so on?

Reply to this Im gonna take part of the same trip, but Ill stop in hong kong and fly home from there. From what Ive read it should not be hard to go from hanoi to hong kong by bus/train, but remember you need a chinese visa in advance, and if you are going to hong kong you need a visa for multiple entries to china, cus it counts as entering china if you go from hong kong to the rest of china.
