Dear friends,
I will be visiting Beijing for 4-5 days in March. I love history, culutre and arts.
I have shortlisted following places to see do in Beijing. Can you please suggest any if I missed anything.

Balding Great Wall and Mind Tomb
Forbidden City, Tiammain Square, Temple of Heaven, Summer Palace
Lama Temple, Confucious temple, bell tower
Hutong.

Please suggest if I missed anything and is mustsee for Bejing and nearby (that can be covered in 1 day)?

Thanks

hi, When you make your way to the Summber Palace, do not miss the "Bird Nestle" and "Water Cube" where the 2008 Beijing Olympic was held. I think it's one of must-see places in Beijing. Reply to this

Definitely the Great Wall, but try to go a little bit further than the closest places to Beijing, it is less crouded that way! If you can do a day trip to Xian to see the terracotta worriors it is well worth it. Also the Olympic stadium "The Birdsnest" is an architectual delight.

Look into another section of the Great Wall, unless you are really hurting for time. Yes, if you like contemporary art, do see 798 Art District. I saw it a week ago, and I loved it. However, be prepared to stay a while. It really is a district; its big. Try Panjiayuan (Dirt Market) if you are interested in some shopping, or if you like seeing the largest flea market in Asia. It is worth it.The Birds' Nest and the Water Cube are amazing. I also think you will enjoy the hutong area. It is Beijing and the people of Beijing. Also take the time to wander into the super markets, and small stores. Eat traditional foods, see what it is like to live there. Beijing is a wonderful place to visit. I have been traveling there for the past ten years. You will enjoy your trip there. Reply to this

I recommend you to have a visit to Xian. Xian is a historical and cultural city in China. The city has been used as the capitals for many dynasties. If you want to learn the real ancient history of China, Xian will be a must see city. There you can visit the Qing dynasty's terra-cotta warriors and Tang dynasty's relics. There are many famous historical museum to see the relics of ancient China of more than 2000 years ago. For Xian travel guide, you can visit the link below:

About Great Wall, I think it's a must-see one. But Badaling is crowed with tourists, I feel. I like Jinshanling and Simata more. These two sections of Great Wall were hardly rebuilt as Badaling. And less tourists. Reply to this
