Hello,

I wondered if anyone could help at all?

We gto our Vietnam Visa's in Luang Prabang and are due to go in on the 26th of Jan, however we have moved to quick and are now ready to go in... (currently in Udom Xai - Laos)

If you arrive a week early can you go in early?? if not can you pay maybe a dollar a day for early entry to the border officials....??? or is there any other way around it??

Thanks for any suggestions.

I think it's impossible, but should post it on the Lonely Planet forum. There are quite a few VN experts over there who are able to help you with a good solution. Good luck! Reply to this

Hi,

If you arrive by land, I would try it. You may or may not have to pay, but you'll be able to negociate straight on.

The problem, is by plane they will simply not let you board the plane if the airline sees it...I did it few years back...by mistake 2 days before the date. Took me 10 more minutes and few smiles, but no problems.

One week ahead...forget it by plane...and try by land.

Have fun,
