Just wanted to hear thoughts on how much money i would need for my trip around Asia..
I thought £500 a month so £1500 overall for 3 months but is that enough? I'm up for most activities but at the same time I'll definitely be relaxing by the beaches-and of course i'll be soaking up the culture at all times! My plan is to save £3000 so the other £1500 i was keeping for flights, costs of tours ect.
As this is my first experience of travelling i want to do it right.
So is there really alot to consider as i have been told (although that was from an older person and i don't mean that in offence!) or are the best travels the ones that are more spontaneous? Reply to this

Hello Tara 😊

That will be enough. You will have to plan and mostly stick to a budget though to make sure it last for your whole trip. You have enough there for tours too if you pick and choose which ones are important to you.

Also, remember visa costs and possible airpost taxes. Put asside a couple of hundred for these and emergencies and replacements of things such as clothes that get damaged.

So is there really alot to consider as i have been told ....

There is a lot to consider, but there is no reason you wont be able to work it all out. Asking question here is a very good start. Another thing to do would be to invest in a copy of SE Asia on a Shoestring by Lonely Planet. It costs around 35 Euros but is worth it for the invaluable information it gives.

We visited those same countries and budgeted $30 per day in total for two of us, so $15 per person. We often had money left over which we would have a little splurge with or go a bit crazy at the local market. There is a lot to consider but as you say, some of the best experiences are the spontaneous ones. If you wake up one morning and decide to head to a place you've never heard of before then go for it, it'll probably turn out to be one of the best parts of your trip. Plan a loose itinerary but don't tie yourself down too much, some places you'll want longer than expected, others you'll be ready to move on before you thought you would. The most important thing with travelling around Asia is to be laid back, see what happens and go with it. Do what you want to do and have a great time. I wish I was going back tomorrow. Hi Bunny,

When are you planning on going?

Me and a mate are doing the same trip but for 4 months. We are booking return a return flight to bangkok for 420 pound and I am planning on taking 1500 at least. Anymore would be a bonus. You'll definetly have enough for 3 months! Reply to this
