We read online that you have to get some kind of approval from your home country. Is this the case? We are going to be in Thailand for about a month and then we are off to India, so we have plenty of time, but we want to expedite the process as much as possible so that we can spend more time on the beaches of Thailand and less time in Bangkok.
Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Reply to this Ok, so we figured it out and it's as easy as bringing your baht to the Indian Embassy with some passport sized photos. They even speak english there! All good and off to India in a bit.
