You could check on the World Health Organisation(WHO) website. It has information about if you need Malaria protection in the various parts of the world. You could also try calling the nearest Tropical Clinic to you. Some of them have recorded messages giving information about if and what Malaria protection you need for the different parts of the world.

Reply to this Hi Bobby!
when you travel to vietnam if you are deep in jungle (like Trekking, camping etc...) than you can use Pills. the most of the place in vietnam is safe. so don't worry.
thank you Reply to this Either check out the WHO, the US Centers for Disease Control or the IAMAT websites - they will give you the info you need. At the very least you should definitely visit the nearest travel clinic, as you will most certainly require certain vaccines before you go (and immigration authorities might not even let you in without them). At the very least they'll tell you to get hepatitis A and B shots, and if you're venturing into the rural areas you will also likely need typhoid shots and malaria pills. You may also want to consider traveller's diarrhea pills. I'd strongly advise you follow the advice of a doctor - comparing malaria protection to the speed limit is not a very good idea.
Reply to this thanks for all the help.i guess it was a silly comparison(speeding)that being said we have been to most places in asia and not taken them so far.i just thought i shld double check.i dont actually ever get bitten but my g/f does get alot.i think that we will mainly be sticking to what ever islands we find around the south of nam so it shld be cool.thanks again... bobby
