Hello Ritchie 😊

I recommend a getting a copy of the Lonely Planet book of Vietnam. It gives information on everything from accomodation to budget to suggested itinery etc It costs around 30 Euros and is available in most bookshops around the world.

Hi Ritchie,
depending on how long you are gonna be in HOchiminh city, I can recommend you exactly what to do. If you are not planning to go to other cities, I recommend you to take a tour 1 day around hochiminh city to see all the historical spots and famous Notre dam, hochiminh War museum. Take one day to visit Cu Chi tunnels, very interesting. One day to visit Mekong delta where you can go to people's garden and enjoy tropical fruits for 2 dollars. I have a friend who operates tours for invididuals and he can do it for really cheap( we used him last time we were in Vietnam and were very pleased with him. Now all my Swedish friends are using him as well). I dont think travelling around Vietnam by yourself is cheaper since tour operators have contract deals which is 20% cheaper than you do it yourself plus you dont have to bargain since you can never get bargain with Vietnamese people. . Tell me your budget, what you want to do and I can help you to come up with a reasonable price. Reply to this

For the budget accomodation, you can find the guesthouse, or cheap hotel in the backpackers area : de tham, bui vien, pham ngu lao street, district 1.
For sight seeing, you will visit War remnant museum, history museum,
binh tay market, thien hau pagoda (china town)
ben thanh market (in downtown)
You can make a boat trip on siagon river to binh quoi tourist village.
there are many sights to see in there
For transportation : the bus ticket will cost 3.000 vnd = 1/5 dollar
Or, you can take the taxi, the moto-taxi (you should bargain)
Have a nice trip Reply to this
