Staying in Mokpo

We need a hotel in Mokpo for one night.

We\'ll be going to South Korea in October. Our plan was to travel by train from Seoul to Mokpo and then take the ferry to Jeju. In general it\'s all quite obvious except for the overnight stay in Mokpo. Since the train will arrive in the (early) afternoon and the ferry leaves in the morning, we\'ll have to stay one night in Mokpo.

Can anyone tell me where to stay in Mokpo (Hotel or Motel) and how we can make a reservation. I can\'t find anything on the internet, at least not in English or any other European language.

Thanks a lot.

Hi Phil,

You shouldn't have any trouble finding yokwon in Mokpo. The train station will have an information booth and a map with a few hotels marked on it. If you can't find one that way, just jump in a cab and ask him to take you to a hotel -- they all understand that because they use the same word in Korean. If you can't find a hotel, the next best is a yokwon, which will cost about $40, and is perfectly safe.
