I'll be travelling down Vietnam between october and November and have pretty much decided on my plans and route in the north and to Hue and Hoi An - then I can't decide! I have approximately 4-5 days between leaving Hoi An and getting to Saigon and can't decide wether to keep to the coastline via Nha Trang or to go inland? Any suggestions on routes to take and things to see would be greatly appreciated

Hi,

Welcomes to central Vietnam.
You arrival Hue first from the North of Vietnam.
The day after, fullday visit Hue - the dynasty of Nguyen - Imperial Citade with forbiden city. Boat trip on Perfume river to enjoy sunset and Hue traditional music.
Visit Garden House in Hue. Royal mausoleum - Tu Duc tomb, Khai Dinh tomb. Local food in Hue....
Then - by car to Danang - enjoy Hai Van pass with stop at Cham museum and Marble Carving village (it takes 3,5 hours from Hue to HOi An).
Day 3: enjoy Hoi An ancient town, Hoi an village or My Son - Cham holyland -
From Hoi An by flight to Nha Trang - It's a sunny city and beautifull island - Hon Tam - Hon Mun.

Wishing you enjoy your trip.

Hi,
I would have to recommend a place called Da Lat. It is in the mountains and is absolutely stunning. I had no idea a place that quaint existed! Nha Trang is also very beautiful, but be careful, when I was there it was peak season and unbelivably crowded.

Hi
I think, you'd go to Hue(the old capital of Vietnam) from Hanoi, then continue to Danang - Hoi An(the ancient town). These places are worth to go, don't skip

I back up Lee on Dalat it is worthwhile because it is so different from the rest of vietnam - with a cooler climate, hilly countryside, minority villages nearbye, quiet with less tourists - and best of all go touring with the easy riders - who take you on the back of their motorbike to all the best sites around! I also climbed a small mountain nearbye as well and this was good too. We tried fox coffee in this area (coffee beans picked out of fox poo and made into coffee ) despite sounding nasty - was very good rich coffee.

I suggest going with an easy rider from Dalat to Mui Ne over two days - they will take you to tonnes of things - waterfalls, fruit farms, they will stop at peoples houses for cups of green tea and they will then show you round their house or farm etc... we went to lots of small towns and seen silk weaving factory, brick making factory, we seen tofu being made, home brewed rice wine, stopped off at a nomadic family house who were temporarily living at the side of the road - they invited us in and gave us green tea. The guys we had were really good - but we took them for a tour round dalat for a day before we set off with them for two days so that we knew what the guys were like. THey were really funny and great company and this was the best things we did in Vietnam.

The easy riders will approach you when you arrive in dalat! Reply to this

Thanks for the tips. I think I'm really going to try and get in land and head to Dalat. I've heard so many good things about the Easyriders that I think it's a MUST DO. Neil and Vik happy travels. I just read through your notes on your time in vietnam and can't wait to get there. I'll be going on the 15th November and then travelling around from Hanoi onwards. I then head in to Cambodia on the 7th November to meet a freind there. Might see you around. Reply to this

Hi bloke,
check your travel insurance if you really want to use Easy Riders in Vietnam. That's great way to explore many part of Vietnam, but be safe
