Reply to this there is a lot to see in the south - I think you maybe should give yourself more than a week if you really want to appreciate it.
Kerala is a beautiful state with lots to see, including the beautiful backwaters at Kollam or Allepey, the capital, Fort Cochin, beaches in Varkala (if you're interested in that) and lots of other places I didn't get too (tea plantation at Munnar is meant to be good). Bear in mind Kerala has 2 monsoon seasons a year: now, and again from Oct to early December - I was there for the 2nd monsoon - it does REALLY rain, it's not like places where it always rains for an hour or two in the afternoon and then is ok the rest of the time - in Kerala it can rain all day and all night (at one point it rained non stop, torrentially, for 3 days). Still, it's a beautiful place to visit, even if you can only go then.
Karnataka is also a great state to visit, especially Hampi and Mysore, also Bangalore. And Tamil Nadu also has lots to offer, Ooty, a hill station and tea plantation, being just one of the great places to see there.
If you can, I would allow at least 3 weeks for South India, in order to really enjoy it.
You don't say where you previously went in Northern India. Anyway I would highly recommend Varanasi, Rajasthan, Amritsar and Dharamsala.
It's pretty easy to travel by bus and train throughout India - depending on where you are, it's sometimes wise to book ahead as trains become full - but they often have a quota of tickets for tourists, so it's worth asking (some stations have a tourist counter). A lot of guest houses will book trains and buses for you for a small fee. Generally on trains, you'll find yourself with other travellers, they often seem to put travellers in the same carriage.

Reply to this I'm afraid I dont' understand your post - all the places you mention are in Kerala - Kerala is a state, not a city.
And a good place to get an Italian what? Do you mean thali? (just trying to guess what you mean). If so, you can get good Thalis everywhere in India, if you go to the local Indian canteens.

Reply to this Hi Peter ,
Indiasn food is not little Bit Spicy But More scipy ,But If u read any travel blogs about Kerala U can find that everyone like Our Food .pancakes ..Fish and Lots of new dishes.Tell me how u will travel and where do u reach First .Accordingly i can help U out for ur stay.
Now u will Think i am a tour consultant .Not like that ..But i can help U out to reduce the package Amount.
Yes u can get lots of italian restaurant .If u want to stay at home stay u can stay in my house itself Reply to this I don't really know of any Italian restaurants, but places like Cochin are tourist areas - they have lots of different restaurants there for tourists and I think you'll be able to get some western-style food if you want. Also if you feel like trying the Indian food while you're there - it's very very good! - then in the tourist cafes and restaurants they will make it less spicy for you if you ask them. Lots of restaurants in Fort Cochin serve good fish. Chariot Beach restaurant is a good one.
You can always book tours very easily from most guest houses and hotels, they are very keen to book tours for you, so you don't need to worry before you get there. And accommodation on arrival shouldn't be a problem unless you are travelling in high season (December/January) when it's maybe better to book ahead if you want a specific hotel.
Reply to this Hi sandeepthanks a lot!!! my outing will be in cuchin first.

Reply to this Kerala is blessed with so many natural scenic places. I think u may get enough details about the sight seeing in Kerala. Also u can visit Kanyakumari which is near from Trivandrum ( 200km ).Kanyakumari is located in the southern most part of India ( in the Sea shore )
Kanyakuamri is well known for the Kumari amman temple, Thiruvalluvar statue, Vivekananda memoria, Udaygiri fort Gandhimandap etc.Kanyakuamri is the excellent place where u can start your tamilnadu tour.
