Hello fellow travellers,
My partner and I have just arrived in Delhi. We are thinking of taking private transport to tour Rajasthan. We have heard of this being a great way to get around. We plan to decide upon our own route and then have a driver take us around to each place... if you have done this sort of thing in Rajasthan or anywhere in India how does it work and what should we expect to pay? Any advice on this would be greatly appreciated!

You just hire one with whom you can agree a daily price. A taxi driver may be available to do it. You do have to a bit careful. Some of them will add on extra charges along the way for this and that. It is best to get a recommendation from somebody. If you cant find other foreigners who hired a driver they can recommend then ask your hotel to recommend one. If your hotel staff are trustworthy that is.....
Beware of taking recommendations from internet forums. There is nothing to stop touts recommending a service whether it is reliable or not on the internet.
