Please help me pick a bag for my Vietnam trip

I need a bag which is suitable for carrying camera and laptop, as well as the other items I will need for travelling in Vietnam. Please advise me on which type of bag would be suitable.

The two bags I'm considering are the

and the :

I've verified that all my stuff will fit in either. The daysafe is more secure, but also bulkier.

Is it unreasonable for me to assume I will be comfortable carrying one of these with me all the time while traveling?

Thanks.

Hello Dave 😊

I removed the URLs from your post. This is an attempt to discourage spammers. The spamming problem is pretty much out of control. Sorry to inconvenience you like this. 😊

Would those answering give Dave general information about how to choose the backpack he needs. He can send you the links via the private messaging system if you want.

No problem.

I guess my question boils down to this. Will a medium-sized backpack be a lot of trouble to haul around as I spend 10 days in Vietnam in September?

Thanks

I generally take the smallest and lightest amount of luggage as I can. Mine is usually less than 10 KG. Carrying around heavy luggage can be a real pain. Also if it is small and light I dont need a place to store it. I can carry it around until I have a hotel room.

It may be best to carry your laptop and camera equipment in a separate bag that you can take to the bathroom etc in cafes, bus stations..... Also if these things are in a separate bag you will be able to take it on buses instead of putting it in the luggage hold. And if there are safes in your guesthouse you could just put the camera and laptop bag in there and leave the other one in your room.

What I mean is have one bag which is as small and light as possible for your camera and laptop so you will be able to take it everywhere when there is no place safe to store it.

Also, have no more than two bags. It can be very distracting in some places and you could easily forget one of your bags as you grab them quickly to move away from touts etc if you have too many of them.

Well i dont think so you will need a laptop. Try to carry a small bag on your back all the time for your laptop, Camera, and other things. There is specail bags for that and it's safe for laptops. DO NOT take your laptop in the normal laptop bag, as it will attract the thives. Try to type "Laptop Backpack" in google and choose images, u will find samples. Sorry i dont know how to apply these photos here 😊
