West Coast Islands During Off Season?

Should I even bother during September? Or should I just be content with the east coast Islands?

I'm taking a trip to Thailand starting August 23rd and will be traveling around for about a month or so. As I'm putting together my schedule I'm wondering if I should even bother with Phuket and Krabi. From what I've read it sounds like you can't really scuba this time of year over there, but I'd hate to mis it if it is still active and sunny enough to support a couple days over there. Any thoughts on this? Reply to this

Hello Donavan 😊

It will certainly be easy enough to get to Phukett because you wont need to take a boat. Quite a few foreigners have drowned there during the rainy season so be careful about swimming. The rainy season is not as bad as one would think. Often just a few hours rain per days with lots of warm sunny hours. I was there last June.

Krabi, I am not sure about. I have not been there. Do you need to take a boat to get there? Sometimes during the rainy season the seas get too rough and the boats dont go.
