Would like to know from anyone who have been to Malaysia about this country.. places to visit etc. Are there any restrictions on eating and drinking in the day time during Ramadan in Malaysia.. Also if anyone has details of good hotel with contact details..would be appreciated.. R there places for kids to have good fun here .. Since Malaysia is a big country what could be apt to see in a 4 day trip? Reply to this

Hi Chitra,

For 4 days in Malaysia, I suggest you visit KL, and probably you can spend a night in the historical city at Melaka.
You can also spend a night at Genting Highlands which is about an hour by car from KL for its cold weather.

Check this out:

In KL, it depends on what kind of attractions you are keen of, if you enjoy sight seeing, u can try the Hop-on-hop-off bus, u pay around RM38 (adult), RM17(child,student,disable) for a whole day trip, .

The bus runs on a 15 to 30 minutes at the stops between 8.30 a.m. and 8.30 p.m. The service covers a circle route that allows tourists to start the tour and end at the same location. Along the route, there are approximately 40 attractions where the tourists can hop-on or hop-off at any of the 22 designated stops. The attractions include: The bird park, Eye on Malaysia(the ferris wheel), the national museum, the national monument, KL Tower, The Aquaria, Merdeka Stadium, Central MArket, Chinatown...etc. You can drop off at some major shopping complexes too, eg the Bintang Walk, Sungei Wang Plaza, Berjaya Times Square if u like shopping.

There will be one driver assisted by a tour assistant on the bus and tourists will be given pamphlet on the city guide. The trip comes with pre-recorded tour guide in eight languages (Bahasa Malaysia, English, Mandarin, Hindi, Arabic, Japanese, French and Spanish).

if you are visiting the Petronas Twin Towers (KLCC), try getting a ticket to go up to the bridge that connects the 2 towers, it's free btw but you have to go early to get your tickets.

if you go to Genting Highland, try the cable car, it's a scenic journey 😊

of food and drink during the ramadhan. basically there's not many restrictions, but as respect, the non Muslim will not eat/drink in front of their Muslim friends during the day. The breaking fast comes around 6/7pm, depending on states. As for food, you can get all kind of food here, no worries bout that, u can have Indian, malay, Chinese , Japanese, Italian,Korean, Lebanese, western fastfood, etc, you name it. Coz we are multiracial 😊

Many hotels available, depending on your budget. If you are looking at a shopping area, there's the Berjaya Timesquare hotel, the Parkroyal hotel, The Coronade, Dorsett Regency... just search for hotels around the Bukit Bintang area.

hope you have a nice trip here! Reply to this

hi addie.. thanks your valuable information. Its very helpful. Cld u also let me know how is China town area for boarding.. Is that area a decent place for a family to stay.. is it centrally located such that we can go around the city as mentioned by you.. Reply to this

china town is ok, you dont have to worry about food or lodging there. It has several hotels /hostels there too, but i'd advice you to go for the hotels if you are travelling wif your family. There are Malaya hotel, Ancasa hotel, which offer quite reasonable $.

but if you are staying there, to go to places like the Bintang Walk, Timesquare, you'll have to that the LRT (light rail transit)- something similar to MTR. They arent within walking distance coz the exact city center would be the Golden Triangle, tat's where the Parkroyal hotel is located. the one i mentioned earlier. Reply to this

Hey Addie...thanks a lot dear for the infor. I checked the hotel details u mentioned above. See i am not wanting to spend so much on hotel-5 star etc as i wld be only spending time at night there.. otherwise i wld be sight seeing. Hence dont want to spend so much on boarding. How is this The Heritage Station Hotel is located at the old Kuala Lumpur Railway Station.. I read the recent blog about this hotel and its decent thats what they had mentioned. .. Also since its near the MTR i hope other modes of transport wld be easily avaialble. If u hv more info on this hotel plz advice.

Hi Chits...
Thanks... Haha! Oh, I was thinking you could probably find out a lil bit about the states I've visited.
Like Penang for me, is great....there's a beach, a night market, sea sports, etc...
I wasn't thinking of you going on a roadtrip.. ;P
Honestly speaking, I actually haven't heard of Fortuna Hotel..
I've checked it out & I find the price is not worth the stay.
But if you really like the location, then you might find it worth. Cos there is what we call "Little India". You can find sarees, indian food, lots of traditional stuffs with a 24-hour shopping centre.
But let me warn you first that on weekends it can get very, very crowded & a little chaotic. Reply to this
