Border crossing to Laos

Any info on travelling to Pakse from Qui Nhon
15 years ago, July 7th 2008 No: 1 Msg: #41169
Trying to get some update on the new bus that runs from Qui Nhon across the border to Pakse in Laos.
Are visas available on arrival at the Lao border? How long is the bus trip? What time/days do the buses run? Cost? Address of the new Kiwibarbara backpackers in Qui Nhon?
Thanks Kiwisailor

Hello Rod 😊

Yes visas are available at the Lao border but I heard the authorities are temperamental so it is not such a great idea to wait until the border to get them.

Hi,

From Quy Nhon, you drive to Pleiku (passing Mang Giang Pass) about: 200 km. From Pleiku - continue to Dakto (belong to KonTum province) about 120 km. From Dakto to Bo Y Border (name in Vietnam) and Pakse in Laos - 20 km. It takes about 7 hours for driver.
Go there by private bus.
About Kiwibarbara: I will check exactly information and inform later if having.

Thanks.
