first time in Asia
15 years ago, June 16th 2008 No: 1 Msg: #38798
my first time in Asia and i want to live it up. i'm going to have about 30 days. here is what i'm thinking.

start in South Korea and do a giant loop. stop in Hong Kong, Vietnam, Cambodia, Taiwan and lastly Tokyo! Ahh, is that possible? i know its worth it, but whats a better route? are there better / less touristy cities to see? what about Beijing? i would love to see the great wall. i'm willing to hit Laos and Thiland if i have time.

what else should i do see. i want adventure, culture, food, trekking ... the whole 9 yards of the pacific that i've come to love but never seen

this is completely crazy and i'm loving every second of it.

i would have loved to see Tibet. chill with the monks a while.

but anyway, please please i much appreciate it : ) Reply to this

What about SE Asia. You could choose countries which are close to each other.
The On a Shoestring Guide for South East Asia by Lonely Planet covers Thailand, Malaysia, Laos, Burma, Cambodia, Vietnam and Singapore. It also has suggested itineries. It is available in most bookshops around the world for around 30 Euros. So what about choosing a few countries in this region?

Hey Free bird;

Well i think 30 days will gonna be too short to cover all this countries .. unless if u wana do just 4 - 5 days in each country. I would suggest to hit all the "Famous" placses in each country if that is the case.
for example;

Cambodia = Siem Riep to see the Angko Wat.
Laos = i would suggest Luang Perbang for the waterfalls.
Thailand = Puket and the lovely islands around it.
Malaysia = The Twin tower and Cameron highlands.
Singapore = Shopping around Orchard road & Do Santosa Island.

but if you like to enjoy and explore travelling, i will suggest to choose 2 - 3 countries maximum and see most of the country sides.

good luck.
