it seems flights from saigon to laos are quite expensive this was my original plan then come down into cambodia back to saigon, my flights are in/out of saigon and want to do laos cambodia. Can get bus into camb from saigon, then maybe a flight to vietiene LP but it seems i will be back tracking back to saigon from laos, any other suggestions, have 4 wks starting off in saigon for 4-5 days orphanage work then either onto laos camb or camb laos. would be grateful for any help advice, travelling alone, been to saigon b4 but no exp with camb/laos. thanks all
Reply to this Vietnam airlines flies these routes and to book over there would work out a lot cheaper.
There are plenty of buses, boats, planes and cars that will ferry you around. Depending on what you want to spend.
I think Saigon to Phnom Pehn (Fly approx. $50), PP to Siem Reap (Ferry $16) , Siem Reap to Vientanne (Fly $50), Vientanne to Hanoi (Fly Approx $100), Hanoi to Saigon (Bus or Train, bus you can jump on or off whenever you want, train requires tickets between stations) may be the easiest way round.
Someone might correct me on this.
Reply to this thanks scott will consider these options, am wondering though if things might be booked out as it is festival time in november in camb/laos, also wasn't planning to go to hanoi, and wondering what options do i have from laos back to saigon so as to avoid back tracking appreicate your advice kerrell
Reply to this I think flights between Laos, Cambodia and VN are quite expensive. Bus between Saigon and Vientiane takes 28 hours and travel down from Laos to Cambodia, and then re- entry VN, you can do it in reverse. Or move up to Laos from Cambodia, and then fly back to Saigon.
Bear in mind you need multi-entry visa for VN.
Good luck!
Reply to this thanks paulle, vietnam airlines are $220.00 from siam reap to luang prabang and $260.00 from vietience to saigon, it would be cheaper to book once in their country but am uncertain how full the planes get and in november there is a water festival. thanks for you thoughts
