Need Suggestions!!

Hello!!
We are trying to find a volunteer project in Northern Vietnam and we've done endless searches online, but every link leads to an organization that charges exhorbant (sp?) amounts of money!! We're absolutelly willing and expecting to pay our own food and accomadation, and think it's CRAZY to pay hundreds or thousands of dollars to VOLUNTEER!! We've got lots of time and lots of energy, but funds are short, so it's just not an option. Does anyone have any suggestions for organisations or agencies that just want good old fashioned man power?? (we're wanting to do a building project in particular, but are open to all ideas!).

Thanks!

What you could do is ask the expats living in the area what help is needed where they are.
Here is an expats forum.

Hi mates,

So moved to learn of your will. When I was in University I used to take part in a project called CBT (Community based Tourism) operated in North West Vietnam (Villages near Sapa) held by 2 Canadian colleges (Caplinano??? and North Island college) and my Faculty of Tourism. The purpose of the project was to train the local to work in tourism. I'm done with University now by my former teacher could be some kind of help. Please contact her at Her name is Ms. Nguyet Que. I hope she'll provide you necessary information. Should I be some further kind of help, please let me know. Cheers.

Hi mates,

I'm terribly sorry. I think the moderators have deleted the email address that I posted. Damn. Make it this way, hopefully they'll skip. Her email ends with and the previous part is quetourism

What means.

On most web fora email addresses and phone numbers are deleted by the moderators. We here on TravelBlog leave to show where we have snipped(deleted) something.
This is because spammers use robots to gather email addresses and phone numbers on internet fora.
It is in the interest of all web sites to discourage spammers by making it as inconvenient as possible to spam.
So, please help us out by not posting information that spammers can use. Use the TravelBlog private messaging system to exchange this type of information.
