Hello !

You have a fair number of options to choose from for Air Travel.

Bookings can be made online VIA credit card but 99%!o(MISSING)f the time the cardholder must be the one travelling and you must be able to produce the card while collecting your boarding pass for security reasons.

Travel Portals :

www.cleartrip.com
www.makemytrip.com
www.yatra.com

Airline Homepages :

http://www.airdeccan.net/data/bookings/book_ticket.html
http://kingclub.flykingfisher.com/credCheck
http://www.jetairways.com/Cultures/en-US/India/Plan+and+Book/Book+Online/
http://book.goindigo.in/skylights/cgi-bin/skylights.cgi
http://www.spicejet.com/

Jaisalmer airport could close due to security reasons surrounding the border (India-Pak). Usually it does open for the winter season... maybe some googling will help. Let me see If I can find out for you.

Hope this helps! Reply to this

Hello Priya 😊

I am not sure the airpasses are value for money, unless you plan to fly very frequently. Last I heard there were ones available for 1 week, 2 weeks or 3 weeks. A one week one costs around 400 US Dollars.

Thanks so much for your help, I was just wondering has anyone out there actually booked their flights in their home country over the net through the domestic airlines webpages? As foreigners are we able to do this?
I just don't want to book everything and get to India and cant fly anywhere.

Thanks! Reply to this

Hi Priyak i had a spicejet flight from Mubai to Dehli just this month and had no issue booking it or traveling on the flight, domestic airlines are not the cheapest but alot nicer than trying to bus India.

Thanks

We spent a month travelling around India last Oct. We travelled mostly by train - inc a lot of overnights.

You should at least try a few train trips. Reply to this

Hi friend!
Why are you so worry? It is not very difficult to get cheapest air tickets. The only thing that you need to do is check some of the airline sites and compare their charges, discounts and other things and then go for the low fair tickets.
