Trying to get from Nepal to Lhasa

Struggling to get clear information on getting to Lhasa (and onwards on the train) from Kathmandu.

Hi

We are heading to Nepal to go trekking. Ideally we then want to travel overland to Lhasa and catch the train to Beijing.

Problem is, information differs greatly on how easy/difficult/impossible this is. Has anybody done this without being part of a tour? If so, how did you buy your train tickets and what other advice can you give us?

It seems the whole world does this in the other direction but this is not an option for us.

Cheers Reply to this
