Thank you for your private message Tony. 😊
Sorry about the spam lid.
We get a lot of spam here and the spam lid keeps it somewhat under control.

Glad to hear that I will have an easier time in India while I have a kid in tow. It was like that in Thailand too. They love kids there.

definitely being with ur duaghter and bf will help a lot.. I'm sure u will have lot of contact with the locals since children make friends easier than adults. hope ur daughter won't get too tired though on these endlessly long train/bustrips.. they can even turn an adult into a zombie!

Hi Mel,

I guess Rishikesh will be your best bet... and traveling won't be a big problem...
I forgot the Ashram name I want to recommend.. Let me get back to you on this one later...

My daugher will likely have plenty of energy to prevent us from resting after those long bus journeys. Kids!!

Thanks Swar. 😊
But no problem about the Ashram because we wont really have time to visit one on this trip. We will just hang out near the Ganges for a while and have lunch or something nearby, walk around and then head back to Delhi. Just a day trip. It is just a few hours from Delhi on the train isnt it?

Mel, as far as i know, there is no proper baby siting service unless may be the upmarket hotels have introduced it.

I would suggest not to hire them even if one is available unless it's someone you know or has been referred by someone who has used the services.

Better safe than sorry. Reply to this

Hi Mel,

Are you taking an over-night train to Rishikesh? Actually, there is no train station in Rishikesh.. you will have to take a train to Haridwar, which is 21kms away from Rishikesh.

Shatabdi express: approx Rs. 1000/person - one way.. (I could be wrong)..

Delhi to Haridwar Departure New Delhi 0710 AM Arrival Haridwar 11:20 AM
Haridwar to Delhi Departure Haridwar 0610 PM Arrival New Delhi: 10: 30 PM

There are other trains like Jan Shtabdi too... AC chair car in those trains might not cost you more than Rs. 400..

Now, this will give hardly couple of hours in Rishikesh... So, better stay at Haridwar itself!

I think you may be right Rohit. Better safe than sorry is always the best way to go. Thanks 😊

That is convenient Swar since I have decided to choose Haridwar. Those times look very good for us. We will skip Rishikesh this time. Unfortunately we only have two and half weeks in India so we have to pick and choose because I dont like to rush around.
