In general Lima este un oras agitat, zgomotos si destul de poluat. Cine s-a plans vreodata de traficul din Romania sau din Paris n-a vazut inca nimic. (fara exagerare) Aici se circula numai la claxon, in viteza si se forteaza trecerile la maxim, de multe ori la centimetri. Incercam sa nu folosim trecerile de pietoni fara semafoare. Am reusit sa ajungem in centrul Limei si am vizitat Plaza de Armas si Plaza San Martin care au cateva cladiri impresionante. ... read more

Hi everyone. The first proper blog. Sorry it´s been along time coming..there was the small issue of 6 days in the Amazon to get through (more later - it´s a tough life) Anyway - after the worlds longest flight we arrived at Lima airport, and to say I (Steve) was suprised was an understatment. Having been ´warned´ that Lima was a bit rough at the edges, we turned up at a 21st century airport, first through customs, bags waiting, cash out the cash machine and a cab waiting! Fantastic. And then the first surreal moment...the cab driver was playing UK 80´s (Ah-ha) and the bar round the corner was pumping Reggae and Dancehall. Not a nose flute in site. Arriving in Lima two days before our tour started gave us time to explore Lima with Jason, Katheryn and Cynthia before they flew home. We celebrated Ella's birthday in style at the Rosa Nautica, a top class restaurant situated at the end of a beautiful pier on the seafront, with the waves crashing around below us as we ate. We enjoyed cocktails and gorgeous local fish and although it was pricey by Peru´s standards at around 25 pounds a head, it was well worth it. The next day we explored the city and took a taxi to a pottery museum in an attempt to get a bit of culture. Miutan jobb oteletem nem volt, vegigszivtam az osszes fogam, oda-vissza, egyesevel, de vegul Madridban az utolso pillanatban vettem egy fenykepezogepet. (Nem kell valakinek egy Olympus D-580-as fenyekezogep oktober vegen? :-)). Ja, elozmeny: sajatom is csak ket honapos = meg garancialis, de Mo-n. Nem teszteltem eleg alaposan, ezert derult ki a hiba tul keson. Utana kirohantam a repterre, hogy idoben ott legyek a check-in-nel (=3 oraval korabban), mindent elinteztem (csomagfelvetel poggyaszmegorzobol, befoliazastatasa, vacsora, uj gep kibontasa, stb.), meg mindig volt egy oram check-in nyitasig. De ekkor mar akkora sor volt, hogy vegig ert a terminalon.
