Hi. To everyone, I hope that when you read this that you will understand me, and understand that it is wrong to lie, because through lying you will never achieve anything good. No it’s the opposite, you only end up losing everything, like how I lost the woman that I love through lies. I was also at the point of losing my family, because when we lie it is difficult to have people begin to trust in us, or in any person who has lied. I’m telling you, I lost the woman that I love and that I’m going to love for the rest of my life. My love, it’s true love, and I’ve known this ever since she left me. Since then, my life has changed so much, and now that it is too ... read more

Like I’ve told you, in my relationship, not everything was arguments and fights, there were also many beautiful moments together, like our first trip together in Peru. But the truth is that there were moments where we argued, but it was always my fault, and now I’ll tell you why. We met three girls during a day trip to the Sierra in Cajamarca, and during this time I almost always was walking along with one of these girls. Hardly ever did I walk with my girlfriend. However the truth of the matter is that while I was walking along with that other girl, I was telling her the story of how me and my girlfriend met each other, I wasn’t walking with her because I liked her, it wasn’t like that at all. When we ... read more

Travelling north along the coast from Lima we stopped in a couple of beachside towns for some more history lessons and some beach chilling (including more surfing!) First stop was Huanchaco, a beach town close to the bigger city of Trujillo. Here the traditional rotara (reed boats) are used by the fisherman to paddle out beyond the waves to fish and then surf back in with their catch. I used a more traditional surfboard for my lesson, and can now add Peru to my list of surfing experience! Huanchaco was also the point from where we visited Chan Chan, the massive capital complex of the Chimu people. It is the largest adobe city in the world, covering 28 sq km and built around 1300 AD - it is thought to have housed around 60,000 people at ... read more

The main reason why I came to Trujillo was because I saw the Temple of the Sun and Temple of the Moon in Google Earth. And then there was the recommendation in my guidebook that its worth stopping and the fact that it nicely breaks a otherwise 16 hour bus ride neatly in two halves. Trujillo has a third important archaeological site called Chan Chan which is the largest Pre-Columbian city in South America. The whole city covered one an area of over 20 sq. km and it is estimated that over 30.000 people lived in the city. The whole city was completely built out of mud or mud bricks. The city was covered by sand dunes ... read more

Hello Just looking at my photos and they are all beige!! Thats because the coast of Peru used to be covered by the ocean.. and its still very sandy. We arrived to Trujillo and after a well deserved sunday chill out day in nearby Huanchaco, Christine, Lisa, Mon, Lo and I headed in a taxi to spend a day looking at mud houses. (yes I know thats 6 people in a taxi plus bags.. but remember.. this is Peru) We headed to Chan Chan ...an ancient city of the Chimu People, descovered quite recently. They were very impressive palaces, where one time sixty thousand people lived. We also saw a snake.. the guide we hired said it wasnt dangerous... but she looked terrifed, so we all gave it a wide bearth anyway. We went to some ... read more

We arrived in Trujillo after a long but fairly comfortable bus journey down from the mountains of Huaraz. The drop of over 3000m was noticeable as our ears were constantly popping. We decided to stay in the Casa De Clara family hostel run by a British guy and his Peruvian wife: local experts in the Chimu and Moche civilisations, who were able to guide us around the local ruins. We spent our first day wandering around Trujillo: a nice little colonial town complete with the usual Plaza De Armas and a big cathedral. Local BBoy kids were break dancing in the shadow of the central fountain, others were rather more adventurous somersaulting and performing handsprings at the traffic lights for a few soles (Peruvian currency). That afternoon we squeezed into a combi bus and took the ... read more
