Hola los compadres, Nous sortons du fameux restaurant El Estancia oú nous avons mange des piéces de viande dignes des Pierrafeu. Yabadabadoo !!! Tout cela accompagne d'un excellent Malbec de la region de Mendoza. Nous partons demain en direction d'un endroit qui vous rendra un peu moins jaloux : El Calafate. Hi Everyone Bet you thought you'd got rid of us eh? Well, no such luck, we've just been having far too good a time in Buenos Aires to bother with Internet cafes. (Interesting internet point: there are a very low number of home internet connections in South America, and most people have to go to public places to use the net, hence there are internet cafes everywhere). So, after a cultural explosion (well two days of culture constitutes an explosion in our book) we chilled out for the rest of our time in Argentina's capital. We spent a few days shopping and bought more than we could comfortably fit into our rucksacks. However, being pretty ingenious by now, we also bought extra bags!! yes u read right. we got lost. we had time to stop in a few places on the way down south, so we decide we would all choose one place on the map and just stop there. i chose pehuen-co which is on the coast. well according to the book it is. we bought the bus ticket there and the destination said pehuajo which we thought might just be another name for it. but no.... that is actually where we went. it was NOWHERE near the coast and when we went into a shop we asked if there was a beach nearby... the 3 oldies in there just laughed at us.. which we didn't really understand why at the time. however it wasn't all bad cos we were only in that tiny town for a day ... read more

Has anyone seen a short fat Argentinian recently? No, well we have. Went to watch Boca Juniors on Sunday and who should be there but El Diego himself, Diego Maradona. But I'll come back to that in a minute. Friday night's trip to a nightclub was interesting, to say the least. All of Buenos Aires nightclubs have been closed for about a month since a big fire in one of the clubs. Since then they've all been having to meet health and safety regulations and in true Latin American style have taken a while. Anyway, Friday night we went to one of the first of the clubs to reopen, a place called Sunset. It was a pretty nice place, with a big outside dance area which was useful when it got too hot. rosario- place of birth of che guevara, lovely little town... had our first offical day off when we just lounged around and watched tv. mainly some crappy celebrity channel i am afraid to say... next day saw some monuments and some lovely buildings... next day tried to go to some museums, which were obviously shut, which we should be getting used to now! but we did find an empty park with swings which our bums could fit on, so that was brilliant as we hadn't been on swings for years!!! oh we also found our first veggie place which was a chinese buffet and was delicious cos it wasn't cheese!! and in the evening we found a fast food place selling soya burgers, so i was extremely happy that day! cordoba-our first cold day- not nice ... read more
