So this is probably my last backpacking trip for a long time, if not for the foreseeable future as I return to trying to set up a life in Lima looking for a job and a flat, and wow, did it make me not want to do this any more rather than make me miss it! And was it worth it? Well... let’s see the conclusion after I write the whole affair down! The italicised bits are the bits about the actual waterfalls if you want to skip the joke that has been my life the last 5 days... it’s a very small part of this tale... Pretty much all my own doing, this is all started a bit wrong where I decided to return to La Paz XCE;LOP..;LO NNNNNNMMMMMMMMNNNNNNN (just had to run down as ... read more

These past few weeks in Buenos Aires have been very interesting and fun. Heide and I moved to a house in Palermo SOHO where we were renting a room for 3 weeks. The house was really nice...a couple of the roomates were not. Having roomates that we didn't get along with put a bit of a damper on my time in BsAs but nevertheless it has still been a good time. I began working for a company teaching English classes at night but the company was extremely disorganized and I was not given time to prepare for classes properly so I only worked there for a week. I have now completely changed my plans!! I am moving to Mendoza (near the Andes) tomorrow and am going to work on a WWOOF organic farm for a month. ... read more

Su to najvacsie a pravdepodobne najkrajsie vodopady v Juznej Amerike, tvorene 250 jednotlivymi vodopadmy a to vsetko v krasnom prostredi tropickeho pralesa plneho zvierat a roznofarebnych poletujucich motylov. Niektore vodopady boli take silne a vyrili okolo seba vo vzduchu ... read more

We left Paraty at 10am to get a 6 hour bus to Sao Paulo. We had already, on everyone else’s recommendations, decided not to spend any time there. Expensive, dirty & little to see and do unless you plan on spending lots of money on eating or drinking or doing business in the city. We had no intentions for any of that. We had a wait at Sao Paulo of about 3 hours and managed to get a bus half the price we were expecting to pay just by shopping about a bit in the bus station. Although, it was very clear why it was half price when we boarded it. Ipod was on full blast most of the night as the sound of the wheels nearly falling off and the brakes sounding like they were ... read more

Landing the Foz de Iguacu (Brazilian side) airport we were furnished with full information to follow up our trip at the National Park (NP). In five minutes we took the bus to the gate of the NP. We got a safe box for 8 reals. The size of the locker is for one standard luggage plus a small hand bag. Paying the entrance fare 75 reals for two, we took the free NP bus to the observation area. It is really breathtaking, the words and pictures can not describe the effect of this natural phenomena. Having lunch at NP we hiked for a while and then left the NP fort he city center where we took the other bus to Argentina. Passing the border is no problem. Argentina side is much quicker at paper work (three ... read more

By now, both Anna and I needed a bit of a break so we spent the day relaxing and walking around Mendoza. It is nice to spend time together, just chatting and walking. Stopping for the occasional drink. Sitting for a while in a park. Then moving on to somewhere, with no destination in mind. 21/02/2011 - Day 35 Yeah, no more buses, well at least not for a couple of weeks. We caught a plane to Iguazu falls. We arrived quite late, 6ish so after checking in we walked to the centre of town and had a light bite. 22/02/2011 - Day 36 While I am feeling better, Anna appears to have caught whatever it was that I had. So we’ve decided to leave seeing the falls until tomorrow and so I’ve taken this morning ... read more
