Wow! Its 38° in Perth We take a taxi, driven by a very still and quite man, and arrive at the hotel all OK, we did drive past the WACA, After a snooze we go out to explore the local area we walk along the river watching the sun set, we end up at a pub called the lucky shag! Great food a real buzz but thankfully no shags involved ;-) Day 2, up early to catch a boat for a wine tasting cruise, very relaxing with lots of wine, it wasn't really tasting more like drinking:-) with a trip around the winery and then lunch with 8 more wines to drink, followed by fortified wines (port) which we declined, caught the boat back, a very relaxing day. Was woken up during the night with a ... read more

Morning, yesterday off we all went to Swan Valley which is the wine region. On the way we saw wild kangeroos, happy nibbling grass on a golf course, not bothered about the golf balls flying everywhere. We went into The Vines golf resort to look around, they seem to have loads out here, but appear expensive to be a member. Then we drove past wineries and popped into a chocolate place where they made chocolate and there were big bowls of it to try. I could never work in a place like that because I know I would be eating it all the time, everyone said 'no you wouldn't, you would be sick of it' but I know I wouldn't. Anyway with that, I brought a bar of chocolate !! We then went into the winery ... read more

Oh yes forgot to say when we came out of the winery after lunch we saw a bush fire starting quite some distance away, roughly about 18 - 20 miles away. Out here they have a large amount of fire volunteers Who don't get paid. When we have seen houses in amongst the trees, you wonder why people want to live like that. Stick me in a city with plenty of concrete !!.... read more

Monday morning. We've had two lovely days in Perth (3 nights). Our hotel is just down the road from WACA where England have been playing cricket and the team is staying in our hotel too! We have a suite - a lovely big lounge with kitchenette so loads of room. We went out to the city centre on our first evening which is only about 15 minutes walk but there are FREEbuses every few minutes so very easy to get about. It was a Friday evening and they have Perth Fringe on so it was really busy with every bar and restaurant buzzing. We went to a great 'fusion' restaurant and really enjoyed the whole atmosphere. Our first meal on Australian soIl was kangaroo dumplings - really delicious! The next day we started with the HOPO ... read more

Good morning, yesterday myself, Stu, Mike, Dorothy and Chris went to a place called Fremantle which I suppose was about a 50 minute drive away. We were armed with plenty of sunscreen on, I put 50 on and Dorothy gave us some salts to drink. It got to 36 degrees yesterday during the day and it did have a slight breeze, not like the previous day. We really liked Fremantle, it was buzzy, loads of outside cafes and restaurants and bars and street entertainers. They had a nice market which sold food as well as leather goods and jewellery and other bits and pieces. I could have had a field day there, but we're on a budget !! We had lunch there before moving onto what they called the round house which was a small prison ... read more

G'day across there, woken to a lot of wind here this morning, blew a huley last night, so not sure what the weather will be like today but no doubt it will be hot. Last night it was 32 degrees, didn't look up what it was in the day as we were walking in it and I thought I was in a desert !!! We went to Kings Park yesterday to get some views of the city and to walk around there. I took loads of photos but I am sad to say I think I've 'cooked' the card in my camera because last night and this morning I just cannot get the I - pad to read the card, so I fear I have lost my lovely photos and I was like a japanese tourist ... read more

Already it seems like we've been gone ages. We arrived in Singapore on Wednesday and stayed right in the middle of the city, so our first evening we just stepped out and walked around and found somewhere to eat. On Thursday we had a full-on sightseeing day starting with the hop-on hop-off bus, visiting Raffles Hotel, the botanical gardens (wonderful orchid section), a cable car trip over to Sentosa Island where there are loads of 'attractions'. We did have a go on some segways! The weather was comfortably hot and not too humid but cloudy. Singapore is busy and vibrant with loads of things to see and do so I think we did OK in just one day. After an early start this morning we arrived in Perth at about 4.00pm local time (we're 8 hours ... read more

Good morning everyone, woken up after a good sleep, Perth is hot, apparently there is still a bush fire going nearby, not that we have seen it, so I don't know how 'nearby that is'. We have come out to see Stu's cousin Michael, his wife Dorothy and their son Chris. They have a daughter Sian who lives up in Cairns. The flight was good, took 3 1/2 hours, easy travelling with domestic flights, mind you I was pulled over at the airport, the man threw some literature in my face, waffled on about who he was which I never got, and then checked me over with some instrument for explosives including my flip flops, yes really, my £1 primark flip flops. Of course I came up negative on the machine. When I caught up with ... read more

We have just walked around the WACA (for those uninitiated amongst you ) this is the Western Australia Cricket Association ground in Perth, ? just a stones throw from our hotel. I was convinced that I could smell the leather of the koocabura but keith thought it was more like curry. Then as we walked back to our hotel I saw Steven Finn ?in a restaurant.... read more

Its a been a while since the last blog. Im actually thinking, now I mean seriously thinking, about changing blog sites. Hold on you say? Don't be so foolish I hear! Has he forgotten the people that made him famous already says Cleve(typical). Has the male modelling career he should have had such a long time ago but things didn't go his way finally took off. Well, hold on I wont, foolish I shall not be, no Cleve I remember the people, and maybe on the modelling career but that's not it yet. This is a travel blog and our travels have ended a while. Yesterday we received our Permanent Residency, yes you read correct (I'm pretending we didn't already post it on Facebooky yesterday and you are all pretending you didn't like it). So before ... read more
