Day 441 to 446 (10.06.08 - 15.06.08) After a slight miscalculation of dates we arrived at our dentist appointment a month earlier than we were booked in - oooops - rushing back home we made it out to our evening of dancing. With Mark tied up, as usual, with basketball on Wednesday night, Chrissie took to opportunity to go out with Franny and Hum to go and see Sex In The City at the Cinema. Thursday night came around bringing Tiana's birthday - What a night! Firstly meeting at a Vietnamese noodle place we saw Prue for the first time in well over a year after meeting her with Tiana back in Japan. It was great to catch up and hear some of her tales of travelling and plans. Washing it all down with a couple ... read more

Ok, i have to apologise but this blog is going to cheat slightly, since it will be covering two locations! We pick up in Sydney, where I believe I had had a day on Bondi and visiting the SCG. Well the following day involved yet another stadium. I got up and left at 9:10am, in the sun(!) and headed to the central station. From here I caught a double decker train to the olympic park 20mins away. When i got there I had to put my hoody on as it had got cold and foggy, but i soon cleared up. I started off, once I had got a map, by visiting the hockey centre and having a look at the two pitches there. Its so nice to see a hockey pitch with stands around it, would ... read more

Zoe and Michelle met a boy from Melbourne in Sydney, James, who is a Hawthorn Hawks (Australian Rules Football) fan. He invited us all, along with a few of his friends from Melbourne, to see the game with him. The Hawks played the Kangaroos (North Melbourne). James had very kindly printed the rules out for us but after three hours of watching the game, I still didn't have a very good idea of all of the rules. It was a good day out though. The fans of both teams in the cheaper seats (us) all sit together which I thought was a nice touch. Actually, lots of families were there with members of the family supporting different teams. Fans of each teams were talking and laughing together all the way through the game and there didn't ... read more

We went to see Melbourne versus Carlton at Telstra, Sonnie got us seats in the Medallion Club which was really nice, lovely sunny day and everything. Would have been absolutely brilliant if only Melbourne had won! Losing to the team at the bottom of the ladder is never good! We then went to try and get The Castle - the quintessential Australian movie. Of course this turned out to be no simple task and we had to go to three different shops to get it, one of which had the rudest staff ever and just obviously did not want me to join! The film is narrated by the son Dale Kerrigan and tells the story of the working class Kerrigan family, who live in a lower class dwelling in Melbourne adjacent to the main airport and ... read more
