Our team! The Hawthorn Hawks.
Zoe and Michelle met a boy from Melbourne in Sydney, James, who is a Hawthorn Hawks (Australian Rules Football) fan. He invited us all, along with a few of his friends from Melbourne, to see the game with him. The Hawks played the Kangaroos (North Melbourne). James had very kindly printed the rules out for us but after three hours of watching the game, I still didn't have a very good idea of all of the rules. It was a good day out though. The fans of both teams in the cheaper seats (us) all sit together which I thought was a nice touch. Actually, lots of families were there with members of the family supporting different teams. Fans of each teams were talking and laughing together all the way through the game and there didn't seem to be any problems. We all got really into it and had a great time. The game is played in four quarters. In the first quarter, we were playing terribly and losing badly and as the fans from both teams were seated together and we weren't wearing any teams' colours, I thought about changing teams! Miraculously, we made a comeback and won the game

102-86. Go Hawks!

To get back to St Kilda, we all had to cram onto a packed tram from the city centre. We ate dinner at an Italian restaurant called Vibe in St Kilda and then had a cake from one of the many cake shops along Acland Street. Tonight, we met up with James and some of his friends at The Imperial Hotel for drinks and we booked tickets to see a couple of comedies, that are part of the comedy festival, for this Sunday night.
