Hi blog followers. Yesterday we headed off on the short trip from Sale to Forster via the coast road, calling in for a quick look at places like Port Albert, Port Welshpool and Toora on the way. As usual, we arrived early, set up camp and headed out to explore the local township and surrounding area. After a quick familiarisation of Forster, we headed for Agnes Falls and the Toora Wind Farm. Both were pretty spectacular in their own right and glad we made the effort. On the way back we stumbled across a great place to free camp at Franklin River Reserve. Very nice indeed and a must stop for the future. Today we decided to spend the full day exploring Wilsons Promontory including places like Yanakie and the camp ground, Tidal River and the ... read more

I had American style panackes for breakfast and they were really tasty! Cheryl (the bus driver) said good morning, grrrrr... The only thing that stopped me from being ready to leave (after goin back for my tooth brush) was Diesel. I was sitting in the bus with him on my lap, and he wouldn't move. I had to take him off the bus because we had to leave but he wanted to get back on. I then had to carry him quite far away from the bus as everyone was waiting to go, he face as i put him down :o( his eyes said 'where are you going?' Poor thing!! I wanted to take him with me. Not too far down the road we went to the campsite for the Buchan caves to see kangeroos. We ... read more

Well out little music festival down at the hill is over so now i can fully turn my attention to this whole going overseas thing! :) thanks to everyone who came, i think i can safely say that everyone had a fantastic time! from our point of view everything ran very smoothly, the only minor problem being the late arrival of the PA...however this was a blessing in disguise because the later start was much better than the original earlier starting time... all the bands were great...it was so good watching shane play his hand-made slide guitar in the shade of the afternoon sun....tinks and lee..well the consumate professionals never fail to please and showed just how good song-writers they are by playing some of the most full on songs in an acoustic format...god those guys ... read more

Greasy fish and chips. A long day ahead of us. Feeling real bloated. A jam packed day lies ahead of us today. First up, was a series of small walks. We arrived at Tarra Bulga National Park this morning for a couple of walks. We walked up to the suspension bridge. It was a pretty boring suspension bridge. Mind you what was I expecting...the Capilano Suspension Bridge? haha At least it could have swung at least a little bit! After the bridge we took a "scenic" track which just took us back to the parking lot! So we went onto the Ash track that would lead us to the Visitors Centre. It was pretty chilly out and we kept stopping so I was finding it hard to get warmed up. Once we hit the lovely rainforest ... read more

Onward to Sydney Four days. Stop in Canberra. Full bus of 18. Well, this is my last leg of my bus journey in Australia - Melbourne to Sydney. I will be making a four day stopover in the capital, Canberra and stay with John and Annie and hopefully meet up with Stacey who used to be the receptionist where I worked. Seven weeks gone, less than two weeks to go here in Australia. As is the case every time I leave a country, I always feel a little sad to say goodbye. But also what normally happens is when I arrive in my next country I'm so excited I forget about the previous country I was just so "sad to leave" in a heartbeat. Okay, so I'm easily distracted and have a short term memory. lol ... read more
