Drove from Adelaide to Melbourne along the great ocean road. What better way to see it than in a campervan! 1000km later we got to Melbourne and even got to meet a few of the neighbours.... read more

The Trip so far................... the holiday is over, Pris back from the garage with a clean bill of health, time on the beach soaking up the rays is done for another day, it's back to the traveling and planning the rest of our trip around and through Australia! We have the wheels, all we need now is the map. We bought the map, now we are ready! Laying the map of Australia down which covers half the bed, we start to plan, only then do we begin to realise just how big Oz is, here's a clue, you can fit 32 UK's inside Australia or the whole of Europe. After four sleepless nights, 98 cups of black coffee per day and 17 packs of unfiltered cigarettes we have our trip planned: Sydney Canberra Melbourne ... read more

Today we caught our flight to Adelaide with Sandra, one of the girls from the tour. We met Wilf and Sheila at the airport, Chris's Aunt and Uncle. They drove us around the city centre so we could get our bearings. We stopped at the war memorial where Chris's Uncle's ashes are overlooking the Oval and had a coffee in one of the nearby cafes. We then went back to their house which is in North Adelaide in the hills and got to meet his cousin Jan, Adam and the kids Morgan and Cooper.... read more

Hi everybody! You followed my travel in Australia on my blog : http://themacaronyinaustralia.blogs-de-voyage.fr But after a few problems (Everybody can access on the blog except me, maybe because I'm in Korea...), the following of my travel will be here. Now I will try to write in english as much as I can, as I said before. First, I will put a few picture of the end of my life in Australia, describe a bit my job, and mainly have a quick scan of my friends. Then, I will introduce you a bit of the korean way of life... But each thing at the time... read more

As we drove into the Murray river area, compared to the barren, very dry and often isolated long stretchs we'd covered between Mt. Gambier and the Murray River, the area appeared like a green oasis. Despite having been driving most of the day, we chose to take a slight detour on our way into Adelaide by taking in the Adelaide Hills. At it's peak is Mt. Lofty, with a scenic view point looking over the whole of Adelaide and beyond. The view was great, but sadly for us not only was the sun shining brightly straight at us (making a photo a waste of time) it was also quite hazy. We didn't have time for a walk here, but it's heavily wooded in Eucalyptus trees and very scenic (with plenty of wild Koala spotting potential, I ... read more

Hello, On Saturday 17th March, 20 TripAdvisor members met at a local thai restaurant 'Chuy's Thai' in North Adelaide for a get-together. Many of us have been chatting for months in the Thailand forums of Trip Advisor and decided it was time to meet up and share some thai food! There were a few people that have been to Thailand (some many times over) and lots of new people about to embark on their holidays in the next couple of months. Seven of us met at the Glenelg Tram Stop and caught the tram to the city, dividing into a couple of taxis for the short ride, while others came from all directions. The weather was so hot hitting 41.9 degrees during the day so we were all hot and sweaty by the time we got ... read more

Hey everyone, well I have been in Adelaide for just over a month now and am settling in well. I've had several great nights out and have made some good friends already. I am now living with Jules- a friend of Jon's. We get on really well. I have a nice double bed- luxury after the backpacking! I bought a lovely pink and white stripy bed cover set which makes me feel at home too! I have joined a beach volleyball team which I absolutely love. It's a great way to meet people and is so much fun. We sometimes have a couple of drinks before we play to make things even more interesting!! This week there was a free BBQ because it was the final of this season. We start again after the Christmas break. ... read more
