Well...

5/3 Despite going out last night I managed to get up early, pack my bags and get my bus to Brisbane. I got to my hostel about midday where Kennedy was already there waiting for me. We got the bus into town so that Kennedy could book her east Coast trip up to cairns, hopefully at the same time as me. We managed to get all the same hostels and we're going to be travelling to all the same places at the same times, the only thing is the Fraser Island and Whitsundays trips I'm booked into were full so Kennedy is doing it at the same time just with different companies. I'm happy with that though because we both get to travel together but also spend some time apart to make other friends which is ... read more

Hodina a 27 minut je jeste krasna ... read more

Today was the official launch of our Origin build up – the milestone that signalled this momentous state of affairs was a visit to the famous XXXX Brewery located just a Cooper Cronk 40/20 from the spiritual home of Queensland Rugby League – Suncorp Stadium! We also had ride on the Wheel of Brisbane, and cruised the City Cat up and down the Brisbane River. Full on day! But firstly we woke up to good news as Jeanette was feeling much better after a good night’s sleep and was a keen for a day of exploring! XXXX BREWERY We decided to public transport it today, starting with a train trip from Enoggera Station which is near Don and Sue’s place in the northern suburbs to the city. The trip went smoothly and we had just one ... read more

Dear Grace and Mag, Been to couple of places since my last entry in Sydney but a couple of places I just passed through. First I stopped in Byron Bay for 3 nights where I was still in the state of New South Wales not Queensland. It's a small little town where a lot of people go for surfing and chilling on the beach and going out. I went out one night and the place was so busy because it was really small. I did have a good night though. I met two lovely girls (Sophie and Nikki) on the overnight bus from Sydney and although we weren't staying in the same hostel I met up with them. One of the days I hired and bicycle from the hostel - they were a really funny shape ... read more

It was a long day of travel getting into Brisbane; 14 hours from LA to Brisbane alone. When Sophie picked me up at the airport I am sure that I was smelling a bit ripe. We took a quick trip to her apartment where I had a shower and was able to meet one of her roommates, April. I had gotten in around 7:00 am so we were both ready for breakfast. Sophie took me to someplace called 63, the place had the most extensive breakfast menu I may have ever seen. There was some clarification needed on the menu but for the most part I could tell what everything was. No, I did not try vegemite; the stuff smells like death. I had some French toast, eggs, and two rashers of bacon, the nice thick ... read more

Most of you know that Eileen loves tea so we began our travel with a tea party, the Mad Hatter's tea party. We flew from New Zealand to Brisbane on 3 April to see Blair Wood, Eileen's son, perform in the Queensland Ballet season of "Alice in Wonderland". The audiences, young and not so young, expressed their appreciation for Blair's portrayal of the character with resounding applause. The biggest and proudest fan in two performances was Eileen as she watched her son take his first principal role in a full length production. Bravo Blair! On Easter Friday we relaxed with Blair, laughing at amusing backstage stories and we heard about the Company's next production, Don Quixote. This left Eileen dreaming about how she might be able to return for Blair's next exciting role. The next morning ... read more

Asia was beautiful, but all in all, nothing on our trip can really compare to the views on the Great Ocean Road... After we finished writing our last blog entry we headed back to our hostel for cheap pizza and beer, and played a little table tennis (got told we were pros, didnt mention having a table at home!) and thought we should have a fairly early night seeing as we had to get up early for the great ocean road tour. However having had a few drinks we were still pretty awake and played some music and room volleyball with our two canadian roomates for quite some time. There were 6 beds in our room but only four of us, so when we eventually got to bed Amelia had the genius idea of taking the ... read more
