Yesterday was a gray and sometimes rainy day so I decided to start with some errands, hoping the weather will improve. And so I became the proud owner of a local Australian bank account, at the big ANZ bank. (If you wonder, it doesn’t mean I’m staying here forever, it’s just a way to save the horrible 2.35% commission of Visa). Since the weather didn’t improve I went to a museum. The book says that the Powerhouse museum is one of the best in Sydney, integrating technology, design, environmental issues, etc. Bullshit, it was so boring… Apart from a small exhibition about computers’ history (some of it made me feel very old, the 80s are in a museum), there was nothing interesting. In this specific exhibition I found a lot of interest to learn about Charles ... read more

Good morning Australia! After a couple of hours on the plane from Singapore I arrived in the hustle and bustle of big city Sydney. Well, in all honesty, it's not that big, kinda like a smaller London but with better weather, hehe! Did the usual thing, like see the Sydney Opera house, the Sydney bridge, botanical gardens, Darling Harbour etc. Stayed at a really good hostel called Wake Up!, which had an awesome downstairs bar, and generally a good vibe bout it! Also met up with Mark (hello sweetie!) and went to Blue Mountains outside of Sydney near the town of Katoomba. Blue Mountains is a national park with plenty of beautiful nature and good walking trails. I was only there for a couple of hours, but Mark decided to stay and camp out (crazy man, ... read more

Yes, here I am: no longer travelling in islands, now I am in a real continent. It feels a lot more stable... Hello Australia! I arrived to the backpacker in Sydney around 7 last night. Even though I was warned that hostels here as not like in NZ, I still got the shock. It's a huge hostel, the common areas are not so inviting, and therefore you don't really meet people. The toilets were also not so inviting... but they have a dorm of 2 people so I don't share with too many strangers and in fact so far I had the room just for myself. All in all, I was simply lost last night. The streets outside looked intimidating, I had no idea what to do and where to go. So I just buried myself ... read more

G'day to all, sorry that there are no photo's et. Can you believe that there are no decent Internet Cafes in Times square! So that's were we are sat now waiting to go and see a stand up comedy show at the Improv Comedy club. It's an interactive Improv comedy club whatever that means and the tickets were $5 provided that we buy a couple of drinks. Sydney was really cool. Cindy took me to Darling Harbour, Circular quay, manly beach, Bondi beach and coogee where we poped in to see Paul and Mira. Had a really good night. Paul is famous for getting people pissed and he certainly lived up to his reputation on us even though we had a 20hr flight to NY the next day. There was an incident with a flip-flop which ... read more

The good student In case any one is wondering I have been busy, busy busy! Yes as a matter of fact I am so overwelmed with work at uni that I havn't had so much time to do other things. It takes alot to adapt to the new system, reading everything in English and writing assignments using academic phrases I didn't imagine exist. However, that's what I'm here for isn't it?? I enjoy reading about countries I would never get the chance to study in Sweden such as Indonesia, Japan, China and Malaysia to mention a few. All the study aside, I would like to know how you all are doing. I would like for everyone of you to just write me a short mail and letting me know what's the latest in your life. YES ... read more
