Servus, Hip Hip Hurraaa alles ist super alles ist wunderbaaar. .... Aber erstmal was Gestern so geschah: Will jemand Strom kaufen?

I'm writing this actually on the 23rd, but as it's the 22nd for everyone else (and describing the 22nd) I didn't think that would be too problematic. I meant to put up some photos I took yesterday, but I left my camera cord accidentally in the room. And can't be bothered to go and get it. Also because all the other girls are still asleep and I already feel bad waking up so early (jet lag). Yesterday started well, I had an ice coffee and chocolate danish covered in warm chocolate sauce. I believe that might be as good as it gets. I wandered outside with a little map and essentiall went for a really long walk (especially good when one has a bad ankle... more on that later). I got a SIM card, but this ... read more

We woke up and started our day by 7:30. Pete and I needed to contact his parents about our recent engagement then contact all of our siblings. With a 19 hour time difference to the West Coast and 17 hour difference to the Midwest it was very hard to call his parents. When Pete called his parents house his Dad was home but his Mom was out for lunch. Failed Again…. The four of us then headed to find Pancakes on The Rocks in The Rocks neighborhood of Sydney. This restaurant was recommend to Mom by a friend that recently went to Sydney. It turned into a 30 minute walk during rush hour and made me realize how I don’t miss working in Corporate America wearing suits and high heels 5 days a week. We walked ... read more

Happy New Year Everyone! Welcome to our first blog of 2010. We too had a festive break (it’s tough work travelling) and are now back-to-business with a blog to cover our last three weeks... Since we last wrote we have covered a lot of ground: travelled around Tasmania for a week; spent Christmas Day in two states; been to Sydney for NYE and started a road trip back up the East Coast to Brisbane with my sisters and Marc. We’ve made it as far as Byron Bay where I’m writing this now. The 1,500 miles we covered in our week in Taz meant it was non-stop and the island deserves a blog in its own right - here goes it in a paragraph. Wrongly so, Tasmania is a place that often gets overlooked when visiting Australia ... read more

Well well well….we’re coming to the end - after this blog we have just a few days in Auckland and where we are up to in Wellington to document. I will attempt to do this as soon as possible, but for now I hope you enjoy a rather dull blog on Sydney and looking at the pictures. As detailed in my previous blog, we flew to Sydney from Bangkok on 2nd December 2009. It was an overnight British Airways flight that had come all the way from London. This meant that most of the passengers were grumpy, as were the crew. What joy to be surrounded by miserable Brits again! We watched a few films on the very fancy ‘on demand’ system, stuffed our faces, and managed to get about an hour of sleep. We were ... read more

Hi Everyone Well this is my first blog, and I've not even left Sydney yet.......... I figured I should learn how to add an entry and photos before I leave, as an internet cafe in Laos with a dinosaur computer, and the clock ticking, is probably not the ideal way to start. So I will tell you about my last day at work on Friday (31 July). The lovely girls in my team went to extreme lengths to ensure my last day was memorable. I knew about the lunch and the drinks in the office afterwards, but I didn't know they intended to turn my desk into a "shrine"!! I arrived at work in the morning to find my desk covered in streamers, and a variety of tacky items from the $2 shop.... a herd of ... read more

Hi all. another lovely day in Sydney. While you all slept we visited two of the most famous landmarks in Sydney. We also went on a ferry to Manley and dolphins swan alongside the ferry. This was amazing. We were also introduced to the most venomous snake and spider associated with Austrailia, as well as stroking a croc. Not bad for a days work. Not sure what we are going to do tomorrow but Bondi Beach is on the cards for Sat. Wish you were all here to share xxxxx... read more

We arrive in Sydney tired and hungover, luckily we are staying with Matt, who Jenny used to live next door to in Hazel Grove, so we have not only a place to stay but a useful source of information for seeing Sydney.  We go out for a couple of beers with Matt, his girlfriend Amanda and his brother John - talk a about Hazel Grove and Australia, then go for a reasonably early night. We are sleeping in the lounge and are woken up about 730 by he return of Matts housemate Robbie, a scouser who lives up to the stereotype by swearing, talking about taking drugs and accusing people of trying to rob him at a party he had just returned from. Matt has given us a rough itinerary for the day so we get ... read more
