I really enjoyed staying around Brisbane’s countryside but the idea of going to the coast for a while certainly got me excited! Relaxing by the pool, getting some sun, strolling on the beach, rolling in the sand, it all sounded very tempting for sure! Well, the sandy part a little bit less tempting maybe… ;) Feeling sand beneath my feet sounds more like it! The weather was absolutely amazing as well – blue skies, nice temperature – quite warm but not too hot either, no humidity, just lovely! Perfect weather for having another shot at improving my hiker’s tan perhaps? ;) Off we went to the coast then and a different state as well… Off to Kingscliff, New South Wales! The resort we stayed at was a bit away from the Kingscliff town itself, just like ... read more

In the air (Gold Coast Australia – Kuala Lumpur Malaysia) AirAsia, 2.14 pm Hello everyone! Today, 23rd of November our trip to Asia has finally began. At the moment I’ m sitting on an Airasia Airbus A330-300 on my way to Kuala Lumpur. Believe it or not, my experience in Australia has already come to an end. I must admit, it went really fast. I had a really good time while studying in Brisbane, met some nice people that I’m sure I will catch up with once I’ m back in Denmark, some other people disappointed me very much, and some others will remain in my heart..but I know with regret that maybe I’m not going to see them anymore. All the exams have been done (I could add that I have been studying in ... read more

We set up camp and went to get details regarding the theme parks etc. Thursday was washing day, with 2 full loads of washing while the kids did some schoolwork. Relaxed, went to the shop for a street directory, theme park tickets and groceries. Had an appointment on Friday, lunch at the park and met with a friend for coffee in the afternoon. The kids were up early Saturday morning for Dreamworld and White Water World. 5.30am Alex woke, but waited until 6am to wake us. We had a countdown to when we could leave. It was quite amusing to watch then get frustrated when we wouldn’t hurry to get ready. We arrived to find the queue still rather small and an attendant saw our RACQ ticket and ushered us to a side entry for early ... read more

We only had a short trip northwards from Byron Bay to stay at Kingscliff North Caravan Park. We originally planned to stay here for two nights but ended up staying three as it was such a nice spot and it also gave us a bit more time to catch up with Maree and Genevieve who live in Kingscliff. Genevieve is the same age as Annelies - Alex and Maree met at pregnancy stretch classes in Darwin in 1998 and have kept in touch ever since. After setting up camp we walked on the very short track across the sand dunes from the caravan park to the beach. It was an un-patrolled beach with reasonably large surf and a few rips, so Annelies and Thomas kept fairly close to shore while Mark caught a few 'dumpers' a ... read more
