I usually go to Las Vegas at least once a year. Mainly to attend conferences or trade shows such as NAB (National Association of Broadcasters). And everytime, I've driven from LA to Vegas, on the 15 freeway, I would see signs for Peggy Sue's 50's Diner. I assumed the I followed the freeway signs and ate at Peggy Sue's Diner but after paying the bill, I noticed the receipt said "Penny's Diner". Darn, next time I'll make sure it's Peggy Sue's! In any case, the food was reasonably priced "comfort" food. Meaning it'll make you FAT if you eat there every day.... read more

9 more days and April and I will be heading out on the great open road for 3 months of exploration, learning and pure relaxation. To say I am excited is an understatement.....I am looking forward to working from the road, writing, meeting new people, experiencing new places, eating new foods, smelling new smells -- I think you get the idea! ;) From Florida's beautiful beaches to the excitement and intrigue of New Orleans to the Texas Panhandle and Santa Fe sky -- every little thing is making me excited. I can't wait to see Las Vegas. It has been a couple of years since my last visit and from what I heard -- it has gotten bigger & better (if you can imagine that)! Hey, there is a Margaritaville....soooooo I am THERE baby! :) I ... read more

On Friday we drove from Big White down to Vancouver then up to Whistler. We stayed in an awesome condo in the middle of the village, about a 3 minute walk from the gondolas that go up the mountain. We even managed to pickup free internet on Sean's laptop from one of the nearby hotels. While we were there they had the Ski and Snowboard Festival in full swing, it was such a change from whole family focus they had a Big White. There was a huge stage set up where they had bands and music in the afternoons and at night. On Saturday night they had a heap of hip hop playing with really good MCs and DJs. There were a bunch of fire twirlers and break dancers on another stage as well. Sunday was ... read more

20.04.2005 - Saved from prison in Cuba Mexico City, DF, Mexico I thought I have experienced a lot in the last 20 years and something since I am proud to say to be the citizen of this planet. I have experienced exploding in anger, dead fear, inconsolable sadness and the greatest joy of the moment. I was full of money and I was broke. I have had great triumphs and shameful failures. I've met people who I disdained and people who I admired. Nevertheless I was the person who I at the moments disdained and at other moments deeply admired. I lied about the simplest things and I have told the truth in face of great risk. I hated and I loved passionately. There were moments when I was sure that I know what life is, ... read more

Between the rainy weather and my bike's being in the shop for a tune up, I haven't done as much riding as I 'd like to lately. Here are some pictures from a ride I took last week during a break in the clouds. I didn't go far, just downtown, over to the inner east side, then back home.... read more

Discovered the meaning of "catching the red eye" after our overnight flight from LA to Boston - we were knackered. Lack of sleep and a heavy rucksack meant Sara had an afternoon snooze whilst I perused the local area around the university, music school and Fenway Park (home of the currently topnotch Boston Redsocks Baseball team). Hostel left alot to be desired despite the rates for sharing a 6 bedded dorm and skanky showers!! The next day took a tour around Harvard University and went out for Turkish food (recommended by the Zagat and the Lonely Planet). Despite the nice meal I suffered from food poisoning - the effects of which lasted for several days. Memories of other travels to Egypt and being attached to a drip were never far from my mind!! Sara amused herself ... read more
