I wrote this bit of blog before we left civilization. Don’t get me wrong, it was great to leave it for a bit but I didn’t think it would be two weeks before I could connect again (or even get my cell phone to work). Anyway, I’ll post this first and then I’ll try and describe what the next two weeks were like (through memory and feeling) as I didn’t write one word in that beautiful place. It was a bit of a frustrating day. We left for Salt Lake early but could not seem to make any time. We stopped at a Saturn dealership and they didn’t carry the part we needed, then we stopped at an RV store and guess what, they didn’t carry the part we needed, and so on and so forth. ... read more

LDS anyone? Utah was really pretty. Have been there before, but it was nice to go back. Heh, we went into the Mormon Temple and there was four of us (3 girls and 1 guy) and the guy that was working there looked at all of us and said "Good afternoon ladies!!" Hahaha how I laughed.... read more

C: Today we woke again in the backcountry of RMNP as Reece has taken to calling it. The sun was already rising high but rain was misting from the sky in parts….I decided to climb the “rabbit ears” as Reece had done yesterday….it was an adventure I didn’t want to miss. The wind was crazy & I certainly questioned my senses and sanity at certain points but after pausing to gain the final bravery to step over small cravass before the last boulder I knew it was worth it. Time stopped (just not the wind). The sun to the east shining through the misting rain cast a rainbow down on the valley to the west. Unfortunately the photos do not do it justice (I suppose a polarizing light filter would have helped), but the rainbow looked ... read more

Hi Everyone, Today we went to Salt Lake City, Utah. It is quite a nice city, very clean, easy to get around in city. But there is one catch…it is the single most religious place on earth. Walking around the city and especially Temple Square, there are sisters walking around to educate you about the Mormon faith. I know that they have their beliefs and that is all right with me, but it is really weird to be approached on the street. The sisters are dressed in street clothes but have nametags on that identifies them. We almost got roped into visiting the Mormon Church museum and watching an informational video!! It was mob mentality. Overall, we liked Salt Lake City but we decided to check out Park City, Utah instead. Park City is very well ... read more

well.... let me just say i should be careful what i wish for. We had been complaining AND COMPLAINING about the cold weather... and now it's 97 degrees and i'm in the desert, no shade, no wind, only sand. it's lovely! haha. But, we are having fun. Apparently there is something "weird" about two women (girls) going on a cross country trip and camping together! We get about looks from everyone at the campground when we try to check it, and sometimes they even offer to put us way in the back so we can have "privacy"! i want to scream from the top of my lungs, NO!!! PLEASE PUT ME NEXT TO MEN... SINGLE MEN!! but i don't. so i have no started referring to Laura as my cousin, just so it clears up any ... read more

Hi Well today I was intending to fly out from Denver to Casper in the early afternoon. The airline operates by assigning you a seat at the boarding desk rather than the computer doing it where you check in! So 30 mins before I was to board they told me and 7 other passengers that we couldn't board the 30 seater aeroplane to Casper, due to some ridiculous excuse about weight restrictions!! So after arguing this for half an hour or so, i eventually ended up with the airline booking me on a route via Salk Lake City that night or I could 'maybe' fly out in the morning 18 hours later direct to Casper!! So off I went off to Utah and despite the stress and waiting around I was rewarded with magnificent scenery between ... read more

Yes, it's true, I have converted to mormonism. The Spiritual aura of Salt Lake city was too much to bear and the path to my chosen higher power could not have been clearer. A religion where it is told that Jesus had a brother is a religion worth devoting my life to.. join with me now as I explore the majestic state of Utah and then travel east to Colorado and New Mexico and back again! now where did I finish off my last journal ... My last journal ended as I was talking about our train trip from San Francisco to Salt Lake City, the first half was pretty bad but the 2nd half was a bit better and more enjoyable at the very least. After being in a bad mood I decided to walk ... read more
