The purpose of my whole trip was to come and support my alma mater's tennis team in the SEC tournament, taking place in Knoxville, TN, from April 26-30. I'm also one of the unofficial photographers of the team, and several of the players' parents have told me that they like my photos the best. Aw shucks. They're probably just being nice, but I'll take the compliments. I like taking pictures, particularly of sports, and plus I know several of these players. It's always easier to photograph a subject that you're actually interested in. And since these guys do a lot more winning than losing, it makes the matches (and following the team) that much better. I saw two main sites today: the Andrew Johnson National Historic Site in Greeneville, TN, and the Titanic Museum in Pigeon Forge. As a connoisseur of presidential lore, the Andrew Johnson site was a must-see for me in this neck of the woods; I was aware of its existence for a while, since I regularly stop at these places on my travels (check out my trip from last July and August if ye doubt my veracity). I was not, however, aware of the existence of the Titanic Museum until about 2 weeks ago. We made reasonable time to Nashville and stopped as always for dinner at Prince's Hot Chicken Shack. As we walked in I thought we were in luck, there was no line and we walked right up and ordered. Tyler and I split a Medium spice half chicken, Caroline had a Mild breast as did Joyce and Vallery got her breast unseasoned. As we located a table to sit and wait for our food to come out I recognized the family in line behind us. Premièrement il faut descendre au chaud, nous traversons l'état de New-York, Pensylvanie, West Virginia, Virginia et Tennessee. Notre premier camping se trouve en entrant au Tennesse le 'Rocky Top campground' et le suivant est en sortant du Tennesse à Chattanooga,(mais sans internet) et on visitera un peu la ville. Jack Daniels Distillery, Lynchburg, Tn Joan doesn't mind my National Parks Bucket List. But sometimes she gets a little annoyed by everything on the itinerary being a National Park. She loves the rangers but wants to see more of what the local folk are like. (We've found that as often as not, rangers come from other parts of the country, just like their visitors do). So on this trip she staged a bit of a rebellion and insists that we include some non-park places on our tour. It extends the number of days.
