The graduate theater here at Villanova is doing the musical, Urinetown, and I went to see it tonight. It was absolutely hysterical, and so well directed (by Father Peter, our future president!). The play takes place in a town with a water shortage and a strict government run by a money hungry dictator and his montage f side kick men. The police regulate the town so that no one is able to pee unless they pay money for public rest rooms. It sounds like a ridiculous premise, and it is, but the musical plays on that, and has a narrator who is a police man who explains everything in simple terms to a little girl in the musical, such as "this is the scene where the hero of the story falls in love with the heroin," ... read more

This past Friday I flew to North Carolina for a track meet. On our way there the airport lost or "misplaced" our luggage. It is beyond me how 20 bags that say Villanova Track & Field could all have been lost. It was really important that we got our bags that night because our uniforms and spikes were in them, which we needed for the next morning. We attempted to call the airport for over 2 hours after leaving (keep in mind we were at the airport for about 2 hours trying to find them) to try and locate where the bags could have been. Everyone that we would talk to would try and connect us to a different person or different phone number. You would think with the technology that we have today the bags ... read more

Friday night me, and two of my best friends attended the polish club formal. Personally I am not polish at all, but one of my best friends is 100% polish and convinced me to join the polish club this year. Throughout the year the polish club has participated in and attended many fun polish cultural events. In the fall we took part in the polish day parade in philadelphia. I had a blast helping make the float and riding it through the city. I saw people dressed in traditional polish dress and heard lots of polish music. I previously knew nothing at poland or the polish culture so I had a lot of fun. We were also on tv!! For christmas we hosted a traditional wigilia dinner and never before have I tasted such delicious food. ... read more

I love music. I am totally that annoying girl who walks around listening to her IPOD and doesn't hear when people call her name or when her phone rings. And I like so many different kinds of music. I used to be NSYNC's biggest fan (and I definitely still have some of that in me somewhere :-) ) I love oldies and country and I really like a lot of today's popular music. I love how easy it is to listen to music- CDs are relatively cheap sometimes, and you can always download. Technology has everything to do with the spread of popular music. Of course, as convenient as all of this is, there is nothing like seeing a singer or a band live. I think it is so crazy to be listening to one of ... read more

As awesome and great fridays are from the time Prof. Sena says "Have a Great Weekend!" to the moment where I am about to go to sleep, I find myself watching to most random things on college humor.com. Upon arriving in my room today, my friend who lets himself in almost everyday was already in my room doing honorary roomate sort of things. He was on my computer already watching some stuff on yikers.com watching this one "X-men" episode, only it wasn't the juggernaught or cyclope's voice, it was dubbed over voices. The voices that normally sound heroic and serious, changed to voices that were a bunch of gansters. For the nine minutes of us sitting there watching this thing, we died of laughter. I found myself highly entertained by the technology of people being able ... read more

pencils...PENCILS...wow, they are messy, aren't they? i'm kidding. they come in all shapes, sizes, designs, COLORS. why the pencil? like...just...WHY!? that's just so much to handle at one time. a pencil isn't just a pencil. it's...it's a MANY-thinged THING. wrap your head around that one, america. maybe they're colored so we can make math fun for those who hate it? are they oversized so little kids can hold a giant pencil in their tiny little hands? lead pencils...now THOSE are cool. i use them all the time. they're so much better than using a regular yellow pencil that's going to break. a plus side, lead pencils come with extra lead and erasers. regular number two yellow pencils do not. you use it, you...lose...it? i was trying to think of something witty to say, but it didn't ... read more

hello! Well my contract is almost up on my phone so I started looking around for a new phone at the verizon store. I am shocked with how much the cell phone has advanced in the past 2 years that I have had my phone. Two years ago, I thought I was so cool with my small slider phone and now my phone is pitiful compared to the cell phones now. Some of the technology is really cool but some of it I find so unnecessary. A cell phone is used for certain reasons, I believe and that is to call people for business or sometimes it is so much easier to use a cell phone when you are roaming around and not home. The sidekicks, the blackberries and those kind of phones are becoming more ... read more

I am so excited for spring!! I am so sick of wearing jackets and Uggs and sweaters take up too much room in the tiny closets in the quad. I cant wait to break out the flip flops and skirts! Campus is so much more fun in the spring because everyone is outside either tanning, throwing a football, watching a game outside, or just hanging out in the quad. It makes it seem like this is a more friendly and sociable place to be. I also love Easter. One of my favorite parts about Easter is getting Easter candy. Even though you can buy the same candy all year round, Hershey's chocolate tastes even better when it's wrapped in pastel colors. I think I have already made 3 trips to CVS to buy Easter candy to ... read more

If you have ever lost power to your house during the summer time or Winter then you know how valuable the Air Conditioner/heater really is. I know when i go inside that i go inside to get away from the elements, and if it is not working I am a lot more iratable because its so uncomfortable. In the summer time it keeps us cool and in the winter it keeps us warm. I am dreading next year because the Sophomore Dorms have no A/C. My point is that without the Air Conditioner/Heater that life would be horrible. It also makes the workplace a much better place to work. ... read more

sooo today me and a bunch of my friends had our first softball practice in preparation for our first intramural softabll game. I personally hate softball and only play cause all my friends do. The most important part of softball for me is the outfit i show up in. Since I hate softball I make it fun and wear something completely ridiculous...just like at todays practice. Industry and technology have allowed activites such as intramural softball to take place, and has even allowed for things such as our team tshirts. My roomate from last years mom designed them for us and went to a tshirt place to have them made. technology has helped these activities become fun and more exciting so even people like me who hate softball can enjoy them. Our softball practice went well. ... read more
